In athleticism he is top 5. In skills he doesn't crack the top 100. A disaster waiting to happen, waiting to meet his Maidana at 154.
Skills involve feints, counter punches, setting traps, controlling range, defence etc and minimal mistakes. Boots isn't close to the top in anything, apart from his speed, length and athleticism. That's not skill, that's physical attributes. He is not a skilled boxer, he is nowhere near the elite level.
Clearly trolling. Ennis is fast but if speed was all you needed Amir Khan would have beaten everyone. He has the physical gifts to be truly elite and perhaps a P4P contender, but he doesn't have skills. Which is a shame, hate seeing guys with so much raw potential but not the skills, always feels like a waste of talent.
He fights in a weight class where skill and power are less vital. It is what it is. At 147 you can get away with just being fast and athletic. And sometimes that's all you need in the lower weight classes. At 175 and higher he would be blasted out as soon as he makes a technical mistake.
The WW division is so dry and dull at the moment. Ryan Garcia would be a very good fight for Ennis but he is tied up for like a year with Romero then Haney. Then you have Norman Jr then again he is pretty green and unproven but would be the best fight in WW for Ennis. The SWW division has got far more better and interesting match-ups for Ennis than the WW division has to offer. You have Crawford, Murtazaliev, Vergil, Zayas, Bohachuk, Thurman, Madrimov, Fundora, Tszyu, Conwell.
