Now im going to start a weekly thread were i Post a fighter from Past or present and we discuss anything about them. Rare info would be good or if its even you think there best perfomance but i will start. I wanted to start off with a Bang so i felt that we should with ISREAL VAZQUEZ Born; Mexico City ,Mexico 1977 [YT]c6Di2j1z9xw[/YT] also i will post a thread to see who we discuss next week.
Don't even post a thread for next week's discussion. Just come up with your own for some spontaneity.
I want to see him fight Juan Manuel Lopez if he manages to get past Penalosa. Seriously. What a match-up.
Israel Vazquez sparred with Shane Mosely once Did you know that after the Jhonny Gonzalez fight, Oscar Suarez(Jhonny trainer) said Jhonny thanked him for stopping the fight? He said he was really hurt. Israel Vazquez has also sparred with Steven Luevano, Vic Darchinyan, Martin Castillo, and Robert Guerrero. Vazquez sparring session with Guerrero... Guerreo was fighting very dirty.... and finally Israel had enough and intentionally nailed him in the balls...( that did stop the rough play) Israel Vazquez was the FIRST world champion that Golden Promotions had (until he later left them, because they did not live up their part of the contract) Shelly Finkel and his friend allegedly tried to take Vazquez from Espinoza promotions. Espinoza had to sue Finkels friend(a lawyer) for it to end. And Espinoza won. Israel Vazquez was the main sparring partner for Manny Pacquaio before Pacquiao fought Barrera. There was almost a fight in Vazquez locker room before Vazquez-Marquez 2? Jaime Qunitana (the same guy who was pissed off and translated for Rafa after their third fight in the showtime interview) accused team Vasquez of skinning the gloves after the Texas commision approved it. Vazquez was literally warming up when he had about 30 people in the his locker room yelling and arguing... He ignored it all and just kept doing his warmup. And didn't say a word.
"Israel, you took it too short on the top again. Why do you always do this?" Israel "Let me see this...Tilt your head up a bit this way....." Then he lines your chin up and knocks you out.
I have a feeling that it would not go the distance. Arguably the best match-up that can happen in Boxing. Not only would it be fireworks from the opening bell, but it would determine who the best fighter at 122lb is - in my opinion, the hottest division in Boxing.
Samething can be said with Vazquez's success with his list of past sparring partners. Quality sparring makes quality fighters.
Yeah i agree its a mouth watering matchup. Juanma was hardly tested his last two times out and even though Vazquez had 3 wars he is No Joke. Has the best chin at 122 i feel. and a great counter strait right hand. Something Juanma would have to be careful with.
Agreed. I really rate Robert Guerrero. I think he is a quality fighter, and has the ability to become the top dog at 126lb.
