I know boxing when I see it. What I saw last night was a crafty veteran hand picking a very raw crude brawler for one of many useless belts.. The guy didn't even have a trainer in his corner.

Clearly you don't no **** about boxing if you called that crap last night boxing.

 

a lot of you have a skewed way of watching fights. it's not Hopkins' fault at age 49 nobody can **** with him in the art of boxing. the fight wasn't even boring. If it was boring it was because of what Shumenov wasn't doing. His footwork is the best in the 175lb division. his skills are the best at 175lbs. what was he doing that Floyd Mayweather doesn't do? lead right hands, lead hooks, rolling and slipping punches on the ropes, well timed jabs that disrupt the opponent. He does it all.

Hopkins hand picked a fighter who had never had a boxing lesson, self-trained, beaten badly by Campillo, and somehow got a decision...................HBO made is clear that Stevenson left HBO to avoid fighting Kovalev. HBO had that fight planned, but Stevenson ran to Showtime for the much easier fight. Calzaghe gave Hopkins a boxing lesson, so did Taylor, Jones, Dawson, hell, Stevenson knocked Dawson out in the first round........................

 

He's not a 'genius'. This word gets thrown around too easily.

hopkins is a 100 so i dont expect him to throw a 100 punches around and he has never been a ko artist. i watch his fights just to see if the old man can beat these younger fighters or if one day he gets koed. theres always a what if with me when hopkins fights. thats enough to keep me tuned in. but has a harcore fan i watch all of hopkins fights, he's making history and im witnessing him do it. tell my kid about hopkins some day.
