    This begs the question....

What were the 5 most exciting fights by each fighter? Or it would probably be more fitting to ask what the 5 most exciting WINS were by each fighter.

    :think

Wlad's most "exciting fights" may have come in losing efforts. Off the top of my head, his fight with Derrick Jefferson was very crowd-pleasing, and I thought his rematch with Byrd was one of the more exciting Wlad fights I recall seeing. The Peter fight had some drama, and is, IMO, Wlad's biggest victory ever (I think it was a career-saving victory that gets undermined by critics).

    What else?

And I'm hesitatnt to even make a list of Hopkins most exciting fights? Trinidad immediately jumps to mind as a stand out for obvious reasons, and more recently, I thought his bout with Pavlik was very entertaining, but that might because of my own personal bias.

Anyone care to muster up a list for top 5 for each fighter?

I can't be arsed to think it through just now.

I dont have any idea what are Wlad's 5 most exciting fights, all the fights ive seen were pretty bad.

    For Hopkins i would pick:

    1-Trinidad
    2-Glenn Johnson
    3-Pavlik
    4-Echolls II
    5-Lipsey

Pre-Sanders Klitschko was a lot of fun to watch. I also really enjoyed the Peter fight, but maybe that's because there was a lot of tension because of the belief that it was a competitive fight.

True, but the McCline fight was kind of boring.

In a way, the Peter fight may have been his most exciting victory.

They are both boring, but at least wlad is clean and fights like a gentlman. Hopkins is so ****ign dirty. He cant fight clean cuz he know theirs a good chance he will lose. But also, bhop is old and knows how to manipulate the rules. However, he also complained like a ***** in the calzaghe fight. Also, people **** on wlad for not fighting good fighters, but bhos resume wasnt that impressive before his win over keith holmes. Alot of his 21 defense are against guys who were very calzaghe resume like...

Agreed, but I remember putting some blame on McCline, too. I've never seen such a tall man look so frail.

Maybe cuz Bernard's tough, streetwise persona (and the fact that he did time) makes him more appealing to people. At least to Americans anyway. If you said the heavyweight champion of the world is gonna be a Ukrainian who has a Ph.D and fights in a controlled and economical manner don't count on him having much of an American fanbase. That's just the way it is. It's more appealing to be a badass cuz that's what sells. People wanna see trainwrecks. Not that Bernard is a trainwreck. Far from it as he's become a shrewd businessman over the years. The thing is that underneath the nice suit is still a man who would throw a Puerto Rican flag on the floor and tell another guy he would never lose to him cuz he's white, which by the way, is the reason Joe Calzaghe told Benard to take a walk when he came looking for a rematch. Those types of antics are apparently enough to make people watch Bernard's fights even though they are almost assuredly going to see a negative fight with a lot of trickery and questionable tactics.

I don't wanna turn this into a social commentary but I've lived in America long enough to know what sells tickets.

Also, whilst I'm here: What about Ali? You hate Klitschko blokes can't tell me that Ali didn't have a bunch of boring fights. Man, I've seen some pretty boring stuff from the Greatest. I remember in one of the Norton fights, Ali barely got any punches off some of the rounds. One of the rounds, He may have only connected 5 jabs. The Foreman fight was also boring up until the last couple o' rounds.

    C'mon, dummies, let's hear it.
