Examples of boring fights between two fighters with a reputation of being exciting or entertaining.

Oscar De La Hoya vs Tito Trinidad i think is a great example.

Juan Diaz vs Michael Katsidis was pretty underwhelming, especially given their styles.

Shane Mosley vs Ricardo Mayorga was also a dull affair, as was Pacquiao vs Mosley.

Juan Diaz vs Michael Katsidis is an excellent shout, you have Katsidis who was like modern day Gatti. And an entertaining swarmer like Diaz, yet it had no fireworks it didn't make sense.

This was the bout that Nigel displayed his boxing skills rather than his power punching.

I have to agree with @Bulldog24 it was boring. It can be an educational and masterful fight like many of Nicolino Locche’s (spelling?) but be utterly unfun viewing. Toney was not on and RJJ was still a unicorn at the time.

For me it depends on the nature of the fight. If I’m watching someone utterly outclassed and I never have to wonder about the danger the opponent might present then the fight might as well have never happened or I’ll take out my notebook. A good masterclass for the sake of enjoyment must have our hero fly close enough to the sun to feel the heat but not enough to melt the wax. This is why Emile will always appeal less then Napoles to me as a fighter for viewing pleasure.
