no such thing as a made puncher you either have it or you don't you can improve it a little that's it. corrie sanders is one example dude was born to punch sprot said after he fought Joshua comparing the powers "Corrie had superhuman power way way more then Joshua you cant even compare" Corrie would just touch you and you would be wobbling in the ring
Wasn't Hearn a featherfist in the amateurs? Also it took Manny a while to get those KOs going but that was in his early years. Sergio Martinez sat down more on his punches at 160 and delivered some beautiful highlights. Crawford seems way more vicious at 140 than at 135.
Prince Naz was a born puncher. His trainer (and i know all trainers say this) said that he hit as hard as middleweights in the gym
Funny thing is if Ottke vs Mundine was the only Sven Ottke fight you saw, you'd probably size him up as a limited banger
Sergey Kovalev asked if he punched hard enough for the pros when he arrived in america, when he hit the pads, they said oh yes you hit hard enough. I don't know how many stoppages he had as an a amateur.
I think he means adding power through pristine technical form and increased velocity when throwing punches. Adding bulky muscles like Joshua can actually hinder his maximum power. If he was a bit leaner he would be less stiff, more explosive and get more leverage on his shots. He still has good power but that has a lot to due with his size.
sergej wasnt such a great amateur, he didnt have enough money for food, sometimes he fight dehydrated and without a meal before the fight, so he was too weak and loss some fights
