Anybody else notice Mike Tyson saying this when he was interviewed at the ringside. It's true about Mayorga, but I would disagree that Cotto is past his prime, he is in his prime, its just that he isn't as good as ppl thought he would be, when he took a beating from Margocheato and Pacquiao.

I agree that Cotto is past his best. I think we can all agree that he just doesn't have the same feeling when you see him in the ring anymore. I really think the Rockgloves incident took a lot out of him.

I think he's still prime, but I can see why someone like Tyson would say that. I'm glad Cotto said the Mayorga fight gave him good confidence.

I thought it was a pretty harsh comment about Cotto. Maybe slightly past his best but still one of my favourite fighters and has a lot left in the tank! I think I'm one of the few that would rather the Martinez fight over a Margo rematch.

Would be an amazing fight and one that I think Cotto would prefer. It was also further enhance his legacy of being willing to fight the best in any division which I think speaks volumes about his character as a fighter

I would say that Cotto is much nearer his prime than Mayorga.

However "prime" is a funny thing and some fighters can stay competitve way beyond it.

Mayorga is washed-up. Still game, obviously, but very far past-it.

Cotto's peak ended with the Margarito beating in 2008, and he's been slipping ever since.
