Both in prime -Mayweather jr VS Meldrick Taylor

Floyd , Taylor negates his fast hand and foot speed by his poor defense and his willingness to brawl leaving him self open for counters.

 

Taylor take's this by SD ect... in a close fight.

 

Would have been a great scrap.

I have to side with Pit here and take Floyd. He's a smarter fighter, though I'm sure MT's speed would give him fits for a bit, much as Zab's did.

The only thing here is that Taylor can go 12 full round's and wont slow down a bit...Like Zab alway's does.

 

Taylor is on par one of the most gifted fighters physically but his inability to stay discipline and follow a game plan was his weak link. when he was able to follow a game plan to the t he was the **** , but even during those time he did he would slip get caught buy punches he should not have gotten hit with.

Could taylor fight for 12 round ?? yes could he stay with a game plan that long ? No !
Floyd on the other hand can and he would bring the condition with it.

Agreed on all fronts. Taylor was unbelievably gifted but often got caught doing the "Philly brawl" thing when he should have boxed. Floyd would come up with a plan to win and stay with it and, I feel, carry the day.

So when exactly did Meldrick become notorious for abandoning his gameplans? It's not as if Floyd would lure him into a brawl anyway, so what relevance does that have in the first place?

I see this matchup as basically 50/50. Would've been a hell of a bout to watch.
