1. His opponent was marked up, while loma hardly had a scratch on his face (loma marks up very easily as we saw in the pedraza and campbell fights) 2. His opponent at one time in the fight was close to getting stopped, badly hurt, while lomachenko was not at any point in the fight hurt. If you objectively look at these "losses", you notice there has been some foul play involved. All we're asking for is a fair shake in the sport.
How's this for fair shake: some fighters like Maravilla Martinez fought years and years just to get a single shot at an ABC belt against promoter, TV and organization resistance and all Lomachenko needed for his shot was to sign a contract with a top promoter. You get what you paid for, Salido taught the little arrogant Ukrainian about professional boxing, the bright side and the dark, and sLomo turned out to be utterly unprepared just like I predicted him to be when I picked Salido on points.
I like sergio but he started boxing late and had almost no amatuer background experience. You're basically saying its not fair doctors get to start such a high paying position straight out of school, when you don't realize med school was 8 years of their life after they graduated high school. Vasily put in all that work during his amatuer career, hes not your average fighter. Sugar ray leonard was also fast tracked because of his gold medal.
Loma outlanded both Salido and Lopez in both respective fights. With that said, Loma has a stronger case in the Salido fight than the Lopez fight. Lopez won his rounds with activity moreso than outlanding Loma but than again, you cannot blame Lopez for that can you?
Leon Spinks got a shot after what, 7 fights? Kostya Tszyu after around 13 I think. ODLH, after around 12 or 13 as well.
When was Lopez close to getting stopped? He lost 2 close decisions (ignoring the crazy cards) to champions. Salido was debatable to me, Lopez less so. What do you want from the guy? He gives a great effort every time, fights only at the highest level, but he's not perfect.
Salido was a joke with the low blows but he's got no one to blame for Teo but himself. Start earlier and if you weren't physically capable then pull out of the fight.
True. And this is exactly why Loma won the Lopez fight. Landed cleaner more numerous shots in rounds 2, 3 and 6 yet Lopez gets the nod for following him around and landing on elbows, shoulders and gloves.. Right cool
Lopez has marked up thanks to cheating Lomas headbutts. Loma on started winning rounds after the illegal headbutt in round 7. He knew the cuts would make Lopez lose his composure and fight defensively It was not until around 12 Lopez said "Screw this I don't care about the cut" and went toe to toe with Loma and nearly knocked him out. Funny that was when Loma reverted back to the dirty headbutt and cut up Lopez for the second time on the 12th round. Ref saved Loma from getting knocked out by stopping it to have a look at the cut.
