Both Taylor and Catterall will be better fighters because of this fight

Lots of folks seem pretty divided on the decision tonight but my take is that both will benefit. Cat looked great early on landing that left hand at will while out jabbing Taylor. Taylor to his credit behaved like a champion and fought hard down the stretch winning the championship rounds pretty clearly while Cat was hanging on for dear life. Either Taylor underestimated Cat or Cat is simply that good but both will learn and be better because of this fight.

I still think Taylor is the goods and point to another great fighter at 140 named Koysta Tzysu who got beat by a seemingly washed up Vince Phillips only to rebound and became an atg at the weight. Taylor will learn from this.

As for Cat, he will get another big opportunity after this performance and hopefully will fight a full 12 next time out. The win was there for him but he abandoned that left hand in the championship rounds and was hanging on.
