This is fair point not only that Canleo will outweigh PBF by 20 pounds. With that said if CAnelo doesn't get PBF outta there within the first 3 rounds he won't win.

 

Floyd is most comfortable at 147 anything above we see him below his best. The fact that he is going up in weight to fight again at his age just shows to type of competitor he is. He could have stayed at 147 and waited for the garcia v matthyse winner or the alexander v khan winner. Both fights would have got him good money.

 

The thing is, in the both times he fought over 154, he dealt with guys who fought him better than most others did. That probably had more to do with him not looking as good. More credit needs to be given to his opponents. Not the weight. So the question is whether Canelo can bring a game that was as good as theirs.

 

i think your right.. floyd looked alot more hittable vs cotto (no dumping on cotto he is a GREAT boxer) but i think it was mainly the weight.. floyd himself said he was not happy with the performance

Anybody know if they are using 8oz or 10oz gloves? The fight with Cotto used 10oz gloves, and I believe Mayweather prefers 8oz.

 

You have a point but then again In my eyes atleast in the Miguel cotto fight it kinda looked like he wanted the fight to go to the ropes so he could counter form there.

And in like round 8-12 he just didn't let the fight go to the ropes and started to bomb away at the guy.

Right. Floyd is not a different fighter at 154, his opponents were of a different caliber.

 

He is clearly a different fighter. He is much slower and less sharper at 154 than he is at 147. This is not up for debate. Not to mention the larger gloves he has to wear at 154. All these are factors.

Yes the opponents at 154 have been better that also is a factor, but just goes to show how floyd is willing to make certain sacrifices to make match ups the public want to see.
