Listen, geezer, the crux of the matter lies with Haye not willing to have a mandatory defense which he'll be forced to do if Wlad fights in between. He's already dreaming of cashing a check for the Klitshchko fight and retiring the hell out. What we've got here is Wlad's little revenge for Haye's past misconduct. The fight will happen, IF Haye survives his mandatory, which is inevitable now. Brainless idiots all over the forum are locked in the hatred mode and can't read between the lines (not you)
Haye was being allowed to fight by the WBA because it was unification. The moment Wlad agreed the fight with Del Boy the unification exemption became void until after the Chisora fight. This is too late. Haye would be stripped for not fighting Chagaev. Wlad has already turned down sky dates knowing this. He had no intention of fighting Haye. Just wanted to **** him about
That's about right. Wlad is paying Haye his dues for when he was on a receiving end of Haye's 'smart business' moves.
I agree with this! I do think Haye will fight either one of them i dont know why he is favouring Wlad but think it will happen Sept as this will be a career payday for all parties.
The problem with the mandatory appears to be that unless Haye signs a unification fight, he has to fight Chagaev before July. He can't possibly sign a unification fight if the Champion has a defence against another opponent lined up - so if Wlad fights Chisora, Haye has to fight Chagaev. Therefore Haye has to set about arranging his mandatory. The earliest Haye can get a Sky PPV date for a Chagaev fight is the second week of May - therefore a July date with Wlad is virtually impossible should Wlad fight Chisora. Wlad knows this and is proceeding to fight Chisora regardless. The logical thing, considering all the other details are agreed, is to sign to fight in July and forget about Chisora. Why, when he fought so hard to 50% of Haye's TV money, would Wlad risk his career high payday by letting a Haye - Chagaev fight go ahead for the sake of fighting British level Derek Chisora. That is so wrong on the risk-reward ratio it's unreal. You think he's risking all that money to teach Haye a lesson? For such a supposed clever guy, that is childish and ridiculous
How so? Wlad is OK with fighting twice in two months, Haye is the guy who likes to fight once a year and claims it is impossible to fight once between now and July 2nd?
What does it even matter if he is 'retiring' in October anyway? Nobody can say that Haye's stint at heavyweight has been anything less than disappointing...fan or no
WELCOME.... As a Haye fan i would love to see him stick around for a few more years im gutted he is retiring!
Why? To **** Haye up, that's why. To take out revenge for Haye's antics in the past (don't say there weren't any). Another explanation might be that Vitali wants Haye (to have 2 belts like Wlad does before he retires this year), but Haye doesn't want him but wants Wlad instead, so Wlad need a 'legitimate' excuse, like the postponed fight with Chisora and, attention, Adamek, who's been line up for September. In diplomatic language, the Klitschko's message to Haye: fight Vitali or **** off. Anyway, that's my interpetation of the publicly available info.
In my opinion, risking your career high payday and career defining fight (that's what it is for both fighter, no two ways about it) to teach someone a lesson is absolutely pathetic and cannot be condoned. Although Haye's moves and behaviour has been questionable and some would say distasteful, it is that very behaviour that earned him a title to create a unification fight, it got him a PPV deal which Boente has admitted is the bulk of the money generated by the fight and is paying Wlad's highest payday and it's got him a name that will get Wlad on HBO. Without that behaviour this fight would not be the size it is today. He can't have it both ways.
sick of all the bull**** regarding this fight. heavyweight division has sucked for yonks now, this was the chance at redemption that could pull it out the gutter and generate some genuine excitement. with this latest bull****, as far as i'm concerned there is no division above cruiserweight.
Haye will retire before 13 October (if he sticks to his words), therefore Wlad is out of the question. Vitali, on the other hand, is available, provided he dispatches Solis of course.
