....yet he has or had MW belts without having a single 160 fight. Seems logical to me lol

The "limit" to fight at 160 is not needed. He has fought his last few fights at the "universally recognized" MW range 155-160

    He is a MW.

Going by that logic, it should be ok if he defends his "MW" title at 155 since the limit at 160 is not needed?

I don't understand you guys. When Canelo asks for 155 catch weight against GGG, you guys say that's not a true middleweight fight. Then you guys turn around and say Canelo is a middleweight because he fought 155 :patsch:nut

Either 155 is middleweight or not. You guys are not consistent

    Fight at 155 then you're a middleweight.

You're a middleweight champ then you fight anyone up to 160. You can weigh whatever you want.

Sure it's ok. If the other fighter agrees to the CW. If not, and it goes to a mandatory purse bid, then both fighters must weigh in no more than 160.

    Surely you knew that.

Some solid ignorance in this thread. Turns out some people don't know what natural means, others don't understand the weight classes, and most have never cut weight so they don't understand why that pound is a big deal.

Exactly, anything above 154 is MW

I agree with EVERYTHING you said, except the BIGGER fish part.

Sure, you've got Jaws waiting at 160 in GGG, but the rest are halibut in comparison.

At 154, there's a whole class of young LMWs/MW and big WWs who he could fight if he can still boil it off.

Let's start with #1 and go to 10.

Pacqioua...old, but still a 1 mil buy PPV.
Charlo bros....not big draws, but will be HUGE names for the next 5 yrs.
Spence...might be the next Mayweather, or even GGG.
Andrade....no problem making this fight as Uncle BHOP would assure him a HUGE PAYDAY.
Martirosyan...yes, just lost to Lara, and 2 other close, controversial Ls, but is never comprehensively beaten.
    Lara rematch....CLOSURE.
Lubin...2 yrs, he might be the best 147-160 fighter on the planet.
Vargas/Brook winner....this winner will be #1 at WW, and if Vargas wins......imagine the fanfare to follow.
Margarito....yes, Concreto is shot, but if he can reel off a couple Ws vs veterans/gatekeepers, a Canelo Margs PPV would easily reel in 700K buys....
Honorable mention.....MONEY MAYWEATHER....if he boxes again.....Canelo would be the fight....easily 1.5 mil PPVs for the Lineal MW title.

So...looking N at 160....you got GGG and BJS.

Nothing else is comparable until GGG moves to 168.:nono:nono
