ok i have sat back and watched people big up kelly pavlik in the general forum for far too long, pavlik NUTHUGGERS constantly slagging off calzaghe and his performance against hopkins, claiming that pavlik is the second coming of jesus. now you all need to realise how good and how tricky hopkins is and give calzaghe his respect. i knew pavlik was overated and predicted this result and now can i just say...

on the eve of pavlik being exposed, the general forum is such a lovely place to be.:happy :happy :happy :happy

and dont give me this bull**** that hopkins would have beaten calzaghe if he had fought how he did last night, face it pavlik got shown up for nothing other then a hard hitting one dimensional fighter

    And it feels great!

cya guys i will now go back to the british forum where people undertsand boxing.

    Thanks,

    Ben

I agree. People tend to forget that while up in years, Calzaghe and Hopkins are elite fighters with more than 20 defenses a piece! They also great attributes and more than a decade of championship experience. Pavlik was indeed annointed a sure shot future ATG despite obvious flaws and not a fraction of accomplishments compared to either of these fighters.

depends on how you define generation? i have a lot of respect for Joe, but Lennox Lewis is by far the best British fighter of this or any generation

Lewis was born in London, England and represented Britain. He considers himself British, and I don't think he would be too happy with you telling him that he isn't, in fact it kind of makes you sound like a racist **** for suggesting that someone with parents from the Carribean can't be British, even if they were born here. Don't make stupid comments eh?

ITs just sad that british fighters have no competition, so being the greatest their means nothing in history books

they do have the competiton if they are willing to chase it.

but you hit the nail on the head when you said "being the greatest (british fighter)... means nothing in the history books".

Yes he is undefeated and a very good stat that is as well, however the only top top level fighters he has beat are kessler and hopkins, then he has other goods win the level below this in lacy, eubank, brewer and reid.

Lewis resume included fighters like klitchko, holyfield, tyson, tua, mcall etc, so his resume IMO is better than calzaghe, i had them two and buchanan as the 3 best fighter from britain since the war however think calzaghe is now just above ken

From before the war i rate wilde, ted kid lewis and lynch higher though i could accept an argument for joe being higher than lynch
