So like it says bowe in tyson s place. Bowe turns professional, meets all the usual suspect s on the way up, marvis, tillis, mitch, ribalta then on to berbick. How does he do against the guys tyson met. Does he lose to tillis? Does blood have bowes number,? Can berbick out fight him, does spinks ship out or land the jinx? And can u see Douglas knocking out big daddy??
Interesting question.... Hard to tell. Surely, Bowe would win all pre-title fights, as there were no real top-opponents before Berbick. I believe Bowe stops Berbick but later than Tyson did. He would've had some tough fights vs Tyson opponents from 87 to 90
Good answer big guy. Yes think he would have beaten all title contenders but. Makes u wonder if tubbs would have given him a tough fight as a few years later he actually did
Bowe had problems with some shot Tyson leftovers (Tubbs,Biggs). The prime Tyson beat easier the best and better version common opponents than R. B. (Thomas,Biggs,Tubbs) Bowe looked vulnerable against the mediocre Golota and a bad version Tyson did better against Andrew. Lots of Tyson victim were better than the good old Andrew G. (Tucker,Spinks,Holmes later Ruddock). Bowe never beat a decent prime hard-punching fighter like Tyson did.All in all Bowe is absolute overrated and the facts proved Bowe can't repeat Tyson's carrier considering Tyson is the youngest HW champion ever or belt holder or what do you want (Otherwise this point destroys Holmes or the klitschkos legacy considering these never were undisputed champions.) I think Tucker,Spinks,Tubbs and Holmes (maybe Bruno,Smith and later Ruddock big hard punchers) would heve beaten Bowe.
I think there are a few bowe fans on this forum that will have a pop at u for that but good post mate.
I can see Bowe going through them all undefeated, he might have struggled more against certain fighters but he would also look more impressive against others.
Should never under rate bowe and Lewis. Not to put down any other fighters but those two were a big part of 90 s and early 00 s heavyweight history.
I can't see him going unbeaten against that crowd. I don't think that he was consistent enough, and I think that a lot of those fighters are the type that he was steered clear of.
As someone stated above Bowe had fought Tyson left overs and struggled. Styles make fights however my pick would be Tucker giving Bowe his most difficulties ,maybe Douglas as well as Bowe was a very heavy slow footed fighter and liked to outsize his opponets bc he was not a guy who liked to do more than he had to ,to win.
Nope. He'll be done in by osmosis--he's not the type guy to string together a bunch of title defenses. He'll lose on some night against somebody in a fight he should have won. The other thing at play is the Bowe deterioration factor. He rose to the top and went downhill quick. Facing a bunch of guys fighting for the title means tougher rounds and a lot more rounds. So he slides backwards faster.
I would pick him " on paper" to beat anyone of Tyson's opponents from 1985-1990. But would he have the focus and discipline to actually pull it off? different matter entirely.
