No , Bowe wanted to get even with Lewis. He was pi ssed with the corrupt stoppage at the Olympics. His corner told him not to protest , there was nothing that could be done , take it on the chin. He wanted redemption.

How does one look at Lewis get panned out by MaCall and show glaringly obvious flaws and weaknesses and come to the conclusion he was better than Bowe who looked much better against much greater opposition. Help me to understand?

Lewis was a mess back then . Trained by some nobody called Pepe. You don't think master strategist and ATG trainer Eddie Fuch would have steered Bowe to victory over the under developed Lewis?

Lewis was riddled in flaws from low hands , sloppy jab to bad feet. Bowe and Futch would have exploited the errors in his game without much difficulty.

Gonzo never developed into a top flight pro so that point doesn't carry much weight for me.

gonzo brutally knocking out Bowe in the ams shouldn't be used as a positive point for Bowe, its not :think

Gonzalez beat Lewis in the ams too. I guess that means he would've beat him as a pro , since that's the argument people make for Lewis beating Bowe.

Yep I was reffering to that fact that many fans believe (if he beat him at amateurs, he beats him at pros)

Gonzalez KO'd and outpionted Bowe in 2 fights, and beat Lewis

Nick Wells KO'd Larry Holmes twice COLD at amateurs, yet I don't think that means he beats his at pros.

    MUCH BETTER OPPOSITION?

    What better opposition ?

Lewis beat Holyfield. Bowe lost to him.
Lewis beat Golota in about 90 seconds. Golota ruined Bowe.
Lewis beat Klitschko ... Bowe didn't.
Lewis beat Tyson ... Bowe didn't.
Lewis beat Tua ... Bowe didn't.
Lewis beat Ruddock ... Bowe didn't.
Lewis beat Morrison ... Bowe didn't.
Lewis beat Mercer ... Bowe didn't.
Lewis beat Bruno ... Bowe didn't.
Lewis beat Mason ... Bowe didn't.
Lewis beat Akinwande ... Bowe didn't.

Who was this "much better" competition Bowe beat? Buster Mathis Jr.? Jesse Ferguson?

    Give me a break.

Bowe didn't fight 95% of the top fighters of the 90s.

Who was the second best heavyweight Bowe fought in the 1990s?

Golota? (Who Lewis ruined in 90 seconds?)

    Tubbs?

Bowe's competition was a freaking joke compared to Lennox Lewis.

Bowe fought 29 times in the 1990s.

Lewis fought 31 times in the 1990s.

Bowe went 28-1 ... which includes the two "wins" over Golota where Golota totally destroyed him.

Lewis went 29-1-1 (should've been 30-1) against MUCH TOUGHER competition overall. MUCH tougher.

Bowe suffered apparent brain damage against a very weak collection of opponents compared to Lewis. If Bowe had faced all the top fighters Lewis faced, Bowe wouldn't be alive right now.

No the worst post ever is Bowe beat MUCH BETTER competition.

    Name Bowe's much better competition.

    There was ... ?

Let's hear the names? Who was the MUCH BETTER competition?

Bowe fought 29 times in the decade. Pick some.

They must be some murderer's row if they left him basically brain damaged.

Who was this stellar cast that was so much better than all the freaking top heavyweights Lewis beat?

While they were rivals he did. Larry Donald would've beaten Lewis back then, never mind Bowe.
