Based on his having beaten every man he ever faced. This includes Evander Holyfield whom he soundly beat TWICE., a man who defeated Bowe. We're talking about the same Bowe who was trailing Golota in two different fights before the Pole's mental issues caused him disqualification. And Bowe himself knew the score, tossing his belt rather than face Lewis, who would have made short work of him. Either of Usyk or Lewis would have been favoured over Bowe.
Haye actually said he was better? I did top ten threads on both. Just for comedy purposes, the results, with the vote total. DAVID HAYE Jean Marc Mormeck 3 Nikolai Valuev 3 Enzo Maccarinelli 3 Derrick Chisora 3 Johnny Ruiz 3 Giocobbi Fragomeni 3 Monte Barret 3 Audley Harrison 3 Arthur Williams 3 Alexander Gurov 3 OLEKSANDR USYK Fury 1 9 Briedis 9 Joshua 1 9 Dubois 9 Gassiev 9 Fury II 8 Joshua II 8 Chisora 8 Bellew 7 Hunter/Glowacki 5 That is some quality discrepancy, there.
Ingemar Johannson also beat Everyman he ever faced does that mean he wins too. For the record I chose Usyk over Bowe in the poll. Which was the question that was asked. I only stated in my comments that stylistically, I would give a prime Bowe a better chance than I would Lewis. Lewis never faced any southpaws or really any boxer movers. He faced a slew of slow easy to hit sluggers. He also tended to tire in fights whether it was Mercer, Vitali and several other bouts. Usyk is all wrong for Lewis. He’d probably beat Bowe too, but Bowe of the first Holyfield fight does pose lot of problems.
Bowe wasn't even as fluid offensively as Golota let alone Lewis Bowe was a big man without the ability to keep at people range.
Haye almost got knocked out by a Super Middleweight in Lolenga Mock. He lost to a 40 year old Carl Thompson. He lost twice to Tony Bellew who Usyk knocked spark out. I think it's safe to say that Haye is the only one who shares that opinion.
Usyk all the way. Bowe's main issue was his discipline. He had A class abilities, but no discipline whatsoever.
Holyfield had his best moments against Bowe when he boxed from the range, so did Golota. The writing is on the wall for this one. Usyk UD
Usyk outboxes him similar to the second Joshua fight. People may think ‘Bowe’s better than Joshua’, but Dubois beat Joshua and had less success against Usyk. Joshua had better straight punches and a better counter straight right than Bowe which is an important tool against southpaws. Usyk predicts Bowe’s rhythm rather quickly, varies that left to the head and body, tees off and sees everything coming from Bowe since he wasn’t unpredictable. The success Bowe has would be when he gets Usyk against the ropes.
I've explained my reasons. You're welcome to your opinions. You've stated that Bowe had a low Ring IQ. Usyk beats anyone who ever stepped into the ring at any weight or age, if they have a low Ring IQ.
Easy win for Usyk, he isn't going to just stand in front of Bowe and brawl like Holyfield or allow himself to be clinched constantly. He'll box him cleverly from the outside using excellent movement. Bowe had neither the power, speed or foot speed to trouble Usyk. He was also only 2 inches taller and 10lbs heavier so not a huge size difference either.
I'm a big critic of Bowe but he never lacked heart, the beatings he took from Golota prove that, especially in the 2nd fight. There was no quit in the man.
