Bowe to Possibly Fight Four Rounder...

    Sweet Jesus, this is depressing. From world champ to four rounders in Sweden. Another in a long line of ill-advised "comebacks." Sometimes I hate this sport:

    "Should he be allowed to fight or shouldn´t he? The conflict between members of the Swedish Boxing Federation in regards on ex-heavy champ Riddick Bowe´s participation in Pugnus Boxing Promotion´s show September 15 in Karlstad billed as "Night of the Champions" is out in the open. Board member Christer Franzén feels strongly that Bowe shouldn't be allowed to fight. The Pro Boxing Commission have made the stand that if Bowe pass all medical tests he should be allowed to fight. Bowe will take on Russian Daniel Peret, a decent have gloves, will travel, journeyman in a four rounder. But the question most boxing fans ask is why have him at all? Bowe was at one time a bright star, a true champ - today he is not."

    Because he's basically ******ed after all of the punishment he's received. No athletic commission in its right mind ought to grant Bowe a license to fight.

    After seeing him fight that one guy Billy zumbrun a couple years ago I was convinced he shouldnt be fighting, zumbrun who was a D+ fighter at best was rocking him with punches. Sad part is this was the same guy who beat a legend twice just 10 years earlier.

    Bowe has a lot of kids to feed. Give him a break. Its not about dignity or legacy, its about filly those empty bellies.
