Okay, I just watched the whole fight again. Here is my breakdown.

    Round 1 - Bowe

    Round 2 - Tubbs

    Round 3 - Bowe

    Round 4- Bowe

    Round 5 - Tubbs

    Round 6 - Bowe

    Round 7 - Tubbs

    Round 8 - Bowe

    Round 9 - Tubbs

    Round 10 - Bowe

CONCLUSION: I gave Bowe 6 rounds to 4, with many of the rounds being fairly close, except for the first, when Bowe had Tubbs hurt early.. Neither man was terribly aggressive.. Tubbs was fighting a mostly defensive bout, while Bowe was being cautious as he came in, and at times even appeared to be a tad mechanical. There were very few times in the bout, when either guy looked like he was stunned with anything significant. I agreed with Alex Waleu more so than Dan Dierdorf about the progess of each fighter.. Waleu had at least given Tubbs some of the rounds, while Dierdorf had Bowe winning it all... The fight was close... No question about it..

Well damn, man, if you're after opinions yet don't want to hear them when you do, then don't bother posting it on a forum. Calling people out for daring to disagree...why so crabby about this?

It's just a fight. One that, judging by the responses so far, most people think differently about. That's all.

From a career point of view, even if it'd been called a draw I don't think Bowe's career would've gone any differently (though no doubt he wouldn't be happy about it and would get a bit of stick). He'd still probably have chosen about the same opponents next and had the same push going into '92.

 Sorry, didnt mean to come accross like that. I just dont understand how people could think Tubbs was even in the fight. All he looked to do was survive and throw the occassional counter lefthook and a jab here and there. Weve seen better from Tubbs, but he seemed to be held back by Bowe's pressure.
I wanted people to watch the fight now and give their scorecards, not post on what they remember seeing back in the 90's or whatever.

Okay, I have re-watched it now so I have a firm idea. I still think it's an entertaining fight, even if the commentators don't quite seem clued-in a few times.

    1 Bowe
    2 Tubbs
    3 Bowe
    4 Tubbs
    5 Bowe
    6 Bowe
    7 Tubbs
    8 Tubbs
    9 Bowe
    10 Tubbs

No idea how I used to have the rounds divided up, but I did end up with the same scorecard - 95-95. It's Bowe's bigger shots and flurries against Tubbs's consistant jabs, counters and movement.

    1 bowe
    2 tubbs
    3 tubbs
    4 tubbs
    5 tubbs
    6bowe
    7 bowe
    8.tubbs
    9. Tubbs
    10. even

I scored it 6-3-1 for TUBBS he succesfuly neutralised bowe and was more effective.
After doing nothing in the first round Tubbs stole the fight. He kept things so tame and friendly I don’t think bowe thought he was even in a fight. Tony just landed more clean scoring shots, he conned bowe. Tubbs, at a walking pace, had Riddick follow him around the ring. Tony kept pecking bowe each time he shifted direction as he backed off. Bowe was reaching with his lead punches like he didn’t expect to land. Apart from the 1st round he did not catch tubbs cleanly with anything decent. Tubbs was sharper, setting subtle traps. He even backed up and stung bowe in round 9.

Your card and crippets don't count. Your the two biggest Bowe haters. Not even Stevie Wonder would score it 6-3-1 for Tubbs

come on, get over yourself lefty!! I dont hate bowe.

If you want to score it 7-3 for bowe simply for following tubbs around the ring and not conecting so often I dont have a problem with it. I wouldnt call you a nuthugger. I would accept your "one of those guys".

The action was tame, and i understand a lot of fans cant help watch just one guy who they are rooting for when they score a fight.

I agree with you that bowe was the much beter fighter than tubbs, he just went to sleep after a good first round. He was young and tony conned bowe out of it.

Even though thats how i see it I could not argue with a draw because tubbs did not dominate. tubbs should have backed up bowe more often to suit judges who prefere a winner to press forward.

I had it 6-4 Bowe, but I think this is a very, very close fight. I think round 10 which I gave to Bowe could easily have gone the other way on a reasonable card. I give it to Bowe by a sliver and no more, basically. leftook, I can only imagine you score aggressiveness more highly than most of the rest of us.

    Bowe: 1,3,5,6,8,10
    Tubbs:2,4,7,9

Draw is fine, Tubbs victory is an OK card by me...i'd have more trouble with an 8-2 Bowe card than a 6-4 Tubbs card. Nobody covered themselves in glory here.
