Chris Byrd of the Tua win up against Big Daddy of the first Holyfield victory? Can Byrd add Bowe to his list of win's over Klitschko ,Tua ,McCline etc Or does Bowe hammer his way to beat the smaller man ?
If it was Bowe of the 2nd/3rd Holy fight, i might've given it to Byrd. But I'd give the win on this to Bowe, by UD
Interesting matchup. Bowe probably wears him down and eventually catches him. But who knows Byrd was crafty as hell.
Byrd from the Tua fight was too past prime for me to see him beating a prime Bowe. I think a younger and better conditioned Byrd would give Bowe a lot of trouble, but Bowe unlike most big men was very effective on the inside, so I think he’d eventually land big and stop Byrd.
Bowe would beat the living **** out of Byrd. It would be even more one sided than the Ibeabucci fight. Bowe hits harder than Ike, and was far more skilled than Ike at setting punches up. Nothing Byrd does would trouble a motivated Bowe.
This Bowe would give Byrd a career beating , bank on it......he would walk right thru him without any regard what is coming back, Byrd was no mover, he liked to be cute and counter off the ropes in the pocket = absolute wrong approach of fighting Bowe who is probably the BEST big Heavyweight infighter ever.
Byrd would have countered his head off and made him miss all night long. Bowe would probably nutshot him when the ref wasn't looking.
Generally speaking Byrd does well against big punching HW guys throughout history imo. And in a trilogy of fights with Bowe he would take atleast one because we know Bowe want always top condition. But in a prime for prime fight, being a feather fisted counter puncher in the pocket is suicide against a big punching inside fighter. Basically watch Byrd Vs Ike to see how this ends.
You are high if you believe Byrd will ever beat Bowe..........Golata Bowe would give Byrd a hiding like he owed him money........ he would get walked down, simply as that.
I'm not tbh, I just don't think that Bowe being fat and overweight and un motivated would be good enough to beat Byrd.
What part dont you get that under no circumstances can you stand in the pocket with Bowe and trade while being feather fisted ? That "fat and unmotivated" Bowe made Golate quit twice because he could not get Bowe off him unless he low blowed him......no low blows and Golata gets ko'ed or quits......lol, he did quit ....twice.
Bryde wouldn't have to be inside with Bowe, he'd be in and out quickly and cpuld outpoint him. On the other hand he could get his butt kicked brutally. I'd go with Byrd though
Ike was already going off the rails and barely set a foot in the gym for the Byrd fight aka he hardly trained........Byrd ALWAYS fell back to the ropes eventually and he never ever was a stick and move fighter for the duration.........Byrd cannot win a fight on the outside or inside against Bowe, simply as that.......if you go life and death with a washed up Golata, freaking McCline and that bum Oquendo you aint beating Bowe , period. To Byrd's credit he did "beat" paper skin Vitlay by quitage.
Very crafty guy .if he's top of his game Big Daddy could struggle, get frustrated maybe hurt himself more than Bryd .Bowe should win but its how he reacts to his opponents tactic s to that play s a part here imo
