Indeed it was, i was there on that spectacular night in 1993 when mister Miller came down from the sky.. It was a great night for boxing actually, I remember how much a buzz was around the Caesars tennis court outdoor arena ... Thomes Hearns got rid of Andrew Maynard in an eye blink and Jorge Gonzalez dragged a classy Renaldo Snipes into late rounds of brutish slugging before dropping him into a sorry heap... I remember how confident Holyfield looked in the week prior telling everyone who would listen how he promised victory , and he would settled for nothing less..... it was hot as hell early afternoon , but later and later towards the co main event it became icey cold and i was forced to return to my hotel room for a tracksuit jacket in between fights ... It was a great event ... I felt Bowe was getting strong in the rounds just before the fan man interrupted some great exchanges.. It was a very memorable night of boxing, i was at the third one too.... that was very reminissent of the very same night , only i remember how i hooted and shreiked when somehow Bowe got dropped by Evander just before getting tko'd.......... i also had a ticket promised for me at the Mathis v Tyson fight on the same night, but Tyson pulled the plug at the last hour with a fabricated thumb injury.. Buster was so lost and he ended up sitting with me in the Alladin Hotel on the day of the Bowe v Holy 3 weigh in with a livid set of undercard fighters who had been left high and dry at Tysons late departure.. Akinwande (who was due to face TNT Tucker and Jerry Ballard who was due to face Johnny Ruiz for the NABF belt) Tysons show went ahead in Philly a month later with Akinwande on the card with Tucker , but Ballard waited longer for his chance to beat Ruiz , finally when Ballard faced him on the undercard of Holyfield and Bean in Atlanta Ruiz did a devestating Ko job on Ballard who was my friend .. Jerry never got over that loss , and not long after he was stabbed to death in an alley in Baltimore, after fighting with a man in a night club.. I liked Jerry but he liked flirting with danger too much he always wanted high drama.. i went to a club with Jerry inside the Rio Suites hotel, he always liked to put his mitts all over other mens women and laugh at the guys reaction... I miss that dude, he used to tell me how his friend Hasim Rahman was going to beat Tyson one day, in fact he wasn't far wrong , but it was Lewis he ended up dethroning.. strange how things unfold..........
