The comments on here are so stupid!atsch Bowe bumped a world title to duck Lewis. But most say he beats Lennox. So stupid.:-(
Bowe in 93 was not the Bowe who fought Holyfield in 92 he weighted 243lbs against Dokes and 244lbs against Ferguson so his lack of discipline had already begun to emerge. Bowe was able to trade with smaller men but against another big man like Lewis he would be in trouble. His poor defence may not have been an issue taking shots against a 205lbs Holyfield but a hard hitting 235lbs Lewis in 93 would have made him pay for his lack of movement and weak guard. Hard to say who would win, with Futch in Bowe's corner he could come up with a similar plan to beat Lewis as Steward did with McCall or Lewis may simply over power Bowe like he did in the Olympics. I'd slightly favour Lewis in 93, Lewis had the tools to beat Bowe and Bowe was already no longer the fighter who so impressively dethroned Evander.
Riddick Bowe. The man with the 45 minute prime. Could have been anything, but had the brain of a pea and the motivation of a sloth. I think Lewis would have won, but you could pick Bowe and I wouldn't argue too much. Lewis got much better after this. Bowe didn't. Again, Bowe had a 45 minute prime.
One of the biggest mistakes in boxing history happened when Riddick Bowe drooped his WBC Belt into that trash can. Bowe was in his prime , a prime where he would have beatan any heavyweight in history. Lenox Lewis was a still devloping boxer in 1993. Bowe would have had him self a win that would go a long ways to making him an all time great heavyweight. Instead he fought Furgoson and Doaks.
Bowe himself believed he couldn't win, so how the f*ck does he beat Lennox if he was already beaten mentally?
Bowe threw his belt in a trash can so he wouldn't have to fight Lennox. That is an automatic default win for Lennox. Plus he had the KO at the gold medal match at the Olympics, biggest fight at that level. History will always side with Lewis
