You said it sounded like it. Did you see the fight? Tupou had nothing. Why would the other guy engage and risk getting caught with a bomb when he could easily outbox a lumbering oaf like Tupou to a wide UD. It was a dull fight because it was a stylistic mismatch.
i'm telling u why the crowd booed. cause it was boring to watch apparently. like it or not, when crowds see 2 big units enter the ring they want to see action and ko's. u win however u can, but if u run and just rack up points in a boring fashion, u can find it hard too get new fans.
Scott didn't run. Topu couldn't get inside (just followed Scott around the ring)wasn't using his jab to shut down the distance couldn't cut the ring off. This is why it was boring to watch. To say Scott ran is bull****.
I was about 10 feet from the action of the fight. It was a good fight and Scott boxed well and was very tough to catch. The tide was beginning to shift towards the end of the fight, but there wasn't enough time for Bowie to wear him down. Scott was definitely slowing by the 8th and if there was 2 more rounds it could have ended differently.
Bowie has a tough fight with Bryant Jennings coming up in early dec. This is where we will see if he's to be relegated to gatekeeper status or if he might yet make it up a few notches to contender status. He's shown both forms - Scott may have provided a blue print on how to beat him but I'm not sure too many fighters have Scotts ability to be so quick and acccurate (Scott is an incredibly talanted fighter but his unwillingness to engage puts me to sleep) . Bowie has been given this fight to play the role of 'opponent' so here is hoping he can flip the script.
