He was out cold, and had to be helped to his stool! :nut And it's not like he was Oliver McCall going into this fight - he's been starched in the early rounds THREE TIMES before this!!! atsch Guys like Tupou are the reason the term glass jaw was invented to describe fighters who couldn't take a punch! But no, the ignorant modern boxing fan has to make up fantasies to explain the obvious - Tupou's chin is PURE CHINA!!!:nut
You'd have a point IF HE GOT HIT IN THE FREAKING CHIN! atsch And you obviously oblivious to the concept of acting. And you help support my point, Tupou got a taste of power and decided enough was enough and his poor little glass heart made him dive and pretend to be "out cold". It's like you're all trying to defend Parker when he doesn't need defending
How long have you been following boxing? Ten seconds? "Chin" is a metaphor for not being able to take a punch!!! Something Bowie Tupou has a proven track record of!!! Look, I can see this kind of argument being made in a Malik Scott situation, where a guy who hadn't really shown any pattern of poor punch resistance all of a sudden gets starched quickly by a shot that doesn't APPEAR that hard. But a guy like Tupou??? Come on - he's made a career out of getting his glass jaw shattered by light punches to the top of the head. Check out the reports on the Demetrice King fight - same thing! He can't take a punch to the head!
Just because he was stopped 4x? Twice in the early rounds and separately twice by feather-fist opponents (Jennings & Scott)? This last time by a grazing top of the bean shot? :bart Glass jaws don't exist, Zak!!!!! :rant (j/k, yeah, Tupou is embarrassing)
Jeez, you had me worried for a sec man!! Seriously, if Tupou doesn't have a glass jaw, they really do not exist.
God damn some of you boxing "fans" are ridiculous. Go back and watch the punch from different angles. I have watched the replay in slow motion several times. Although the punch did look like it sprayed across the top of Tupou's head, if you listen, it actually connects reasonably well. One of my friends was ringside and said it made a pretty reasonable slap on connection. Also, if you view the punch from another angle, you can see it hit Tupou on the up of his temple and carried over. The equilibrium is exposed there, so to be hurt from a punch like that is quite rare but not surprising at all. Also, if you are dead set on this being a dive. How many people have you seen have the ability to drop face forward to the canvas in a completely limp state? Your natural reaction is to break your fall. Tupou is limited as a fighter but over the years has proven his grit. You clowns saying he is "glass jawed" need to learn the term. He has been seen as a quitter in the past but never been labelled as having a glass jaw. Before you go trying to badmouth a boxer, know boxing before you speak boxing. :nut :hi:
The dude can't take a punch anywhere. He goes down to grazing punches and is having canvas-nap time for minutes and even when he gets up, he's all over the place. :roflatsch
Funny thing is that at one point (even after his first stoppage defeat, to Demetrice King) he was billed as "limited but tough", a'la fellow Polynesian slugger Alex Leapai. :yep
What is becoming very clear is that anyone facing Parker will need a granite mandible now that he is growing into his frame.... Tupou has glass and I wasn't surprised by the outcome but the recent KOs have not all been against such fragility and aren't even requiring softening up. Parker is clearly someone who can end a fight with any single shot, and that's ignoring the fact he has proven to have a decent jaw himself and be able to into late rounds and get decisions.
The idea gets more and more exciting as time goes on. If Joshua has a decent chin then that fight could be a war!
