any news on him? he seems to be going along slowly but in the right direction but not much going on lately. it's just not the stage of his career that he should be taking long breaks between fights. injured maybe? still waiting for him to fight a more credentialled fighter too.
All I can say about this guy he is over rated and will be exposed for the type of fighter he actually his.........B Grade On a side note he is actually a very nice guy
Put quite simply, he is not the next heavyweight champ and may never even be a contender. But to be fair the guy had only 1 amatuer fight and had almost no boxing experience prior that fight. He showed a lot of flaws but at the same time a lot of promise, he is physically very impressive which I think in a way people wanted to see. They were a bit sick of the fat, lazy heavies and the skilless giants roaming around, so the musclar but not inept Toupu looked an attractive option to follow. Tupou looks fit, fairly cut, quite fluid and has alright handspeed. But in actual fact his stamina was a question mark when he left oz and so was his durability. I wish him the best, he seemed like a real nice kid. And honestly if things had worked out different and he had been boxing since he was young, he could have done really, really well. Such is his athletic ability. America is the right place for him, he was just about at the top of the heavyweight picture in Oz/NZ and he was far to green to make that next step at the time. At least in America, the talent pool is deeper and he can be moved along gradually.
I heard he suppose to fight october 27 against cise salif but something happen,he went to ozzie for are week.
