Box nation can't even sort an email account out

Can you be a real boxing fan these days if you watch in SD?

I dont think it will work out. Very seldom does a sports station for 1 sport works out in the long term. I remember the golf channel and that went tits up and they were showing the golf every week from the US it just didnt get the numbers.
I can see the same thing happening with Boxnation but it will be quicker. The costs are huge and if the subs arent covering at least 33% of the costs in the first year and growing to half that in the second year then I think the backers will just walk away as they cant keep spending that high. How much is the contracts for the German and US cards at the moment?
You will see the warning signs or the hungry for extra money. I have said it before and I will say it again. Expect VVarren to put on at least 3 to 4 PPVs on this station a year if not more with a fee more than the sub or the same as the sub will people be happy to pay a extra fee on top of there sub for a boxing station. Expect any of the British fighters in World title fights to be chanced as his PPV fighters. I just dont see anyone that VVarren has as a PPV star.

Have probably seen more good fights on this channel for free than saw in the whole of last year on Sky.

 

I don't get why people are so eager to criticise them for their production or commentary. Things like that are irrelvant to me when I'm watching a fight in truth. All I want from Boxnation is as many good cards as it can get and if that means they don't put as much money into the production, I couldn't care less.

Sky took a lot of flak on here for that touchscreen they used in the build up for the Haye fight and the fact they emplyed so many pundits on shows. The fact we've gone from loads of threads on that being an irritant and meaning they might not pick up more fights to these threads now on Boxnation says to me people on here just love moaning about anything and everything.

 

JFT, that is pretty much the issue. People used to complain about Setanta. They complain that Sky don't show enough fights, or that they feature too many poor cards, etc. Box Nation have come along and already people just complain to have something to complain about.

I think most of the complaints are valid. the one from the OP perhaps not but its just one of many things that just screams "we dont know what the **** were doing" at BN.

 

Well the guy that chooses what fights they show obviously does because they have been superb so far!!!

 

No, Rob – it screams “we’re a new channel”. Sky was proper clownshoes when it started. Channel 5, with a lot more capital, was an industry joke until a few years ago. BN is a new channel. They’ve acquired rights to some great fights, they’re trying to do more. The complaining is a little undeserved two months in.

 

I personally like the channel, who cares about anything else as long as they put half decent cards on each week.

 

I've only been here 5 minutes, but I've thought a few times its a really bitchy whiney place at times and considering we are fight fans it's had me stumped a few times too lol

Boxnation can count of my cash for 3 - 6 months and then i'll review and make a call, but i'm all for supporting the new boys on the block taking on Sky because its a product I want and if they can do a better job then Sky, then more power to them:happy
