Seriously tho wtf, I have just had a gander at the homepage and they have Andre Ward at smw best fighter at weight yet they have Andre Dirrell at no11 p4p and Ward No12. What possible reason can they have for those rankings, Dirrell only win 1 of his last 2 and Ward wins his last 2 and is wba champ. Surely its teh other way round atsch Thoughts
boxrec is a complete joke when it comes to rankings, its done on some point systym dont worry bout it
Take a deep breath and relax. Everyone knows it is based on some bull**** point scoring system. Happy?
Id follow boxrec rankings and IBO rankings before i would look at the main four belt rankings thats for sure. Most of you cats would cry for days on end if Boxrecs rankings and schedule cease to exist.
:deal Boxrec's ranking formula is imperfect but it's not bad. They could do with changing a few aspects of the formula it but if you want to get pissed off about rankings, look at the WBA, WBC or IBF first.
I'm baffled by their points system. In the last 2 years, Hopkins has beat Ornelas and Jones Jr yet is P4P no.4.
Their rankings aren't that bad. As said before they're still probably the best out there. There are one or two problems that occur when boxers switch weight divisions and some of the ratings are a little strange. If we never had BoxRec's ratings, we'd never have known that Haye and Vitali have recently fought guys ranked about 45th in the world!
If you believe Boxrec rankings then Sergei Dzinziruk (the best jr middleweight around) is a journeyman.
Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I've never understood the 'THEY'RE ALL RUBBISH!!' attitude.
They have Bute ranked #1 at SMW , not Ward ...same as The Ring Magazine. This content is protected And they have Ward #22 P4P http://boxrec.com/ratings.php?country=&sex=m&division=P4P&status=A&SUBMIT=Go
Boxrec is an absolultely fantastic tool for research, fixtures, results and boxers records. A few decent articles now and again, but their rankings are only good for being comprehensive. They certainly are nowhere near accurate. Having said that though, whose are?!
