    Round 1

Carmona is jabbing the belt line and head from 2½ steps off. Carmona is waving feints in the air, rolling his left fist out in a watch-the-birdie motion and making adjustments to fire in the opposite direction of whatever Iribe appears to be anticipating. Iribe for his part is crouching to his right and stretching a long jab on the body with his feet planted and then following Carmona's footwork, always just a little behind, catching up and never fully squared to him.

    10-9 Carmona

    Round 2

Carmona is looping a right on the body after landing his jab on the face. Iribe leans in and they clash heads. The ref warns both. Carmona is doubling his jab into the guard of Iribe. After catching a couple of jabs, Iribe tries surging over Carmona's retracted arms with his own 1-2 but Carmona is able to slide his feet to one side to dodge and reset and tap him with a counter to his counter. Iribe is driven into the ropes by a series of hard uppers & hooks on the body and vicious straights on the face, jerking his neck sharply. Iribe manages to stay up despite being quite hurt, and finally goes down on a straight right against the ropes. 45 seconds on the clock and Iribe makes it up. Big hooks slamming into either side of the body from Carmona. Iribe down again in a corner. Again beats the count. Several hard jabs by Carmona but that's all there is time left for. Saved by the bell.

    10-7 Carmona

    20-16 Carmona

No reason for Iribe's corner to send him back out.

I didn't realize that Carmona was trained by Jorge Lacierva. That guy was a solid contender a decade or so ago.

    Round 3

Carmona is now down - but it was a slip; colliding with Iribe as both threw jabs and caroming off him bumper-cars style and losing his balance. Kind of comical actually. He's up and dominating with the jab and still can't miss with the right cross, knocking Iribe's skull off-center like a bobble-head toy. Carmona is neglecting the body compared with the previous couple of frames, and thus Iribe has been able to recover a bit, though he's still recoiling in pain from those right hands when Carmona occasionally clips him with them. For the most part Carmona simply jabbing, taking a little break and catching his breath maybe. Iribe sneaking in a cheeky overhand right here and there jumping in and then melting outside with a splayed-legged, lean-away Philly shell.

    10-9 Carmona

    30-25 Carmona

Lol forgot about this, turned the TV as Carmona threw the knockout punch. Oh well seems like it was extremely one sided.

    Round 4

Carmona lands an excellent right hand early and Iribe seems ALL shaken up, but is wilting against the ropes with his guard up just riding it out. Carmona batters the guard and peppers the body with hooks. Iribe, agonized, crumples onto the floor and the ref mistakenly believes he slipped. Both fighters confused, Iribe gets to his feet without being given a 10-count and Carmona takes a step back, incredulous. Within moments Carmona has begun pummeling Iribe's body again, prompting him to again sink in a sad deflated heap on the canvas. The ref seems to understand now, dropping to a knee beside Iribe, asking if he's okay. The answer is no, dude.

    TKO4!!

The commentator for Telemundo gave Iribe the 1st, and for some reason bothered scoring the 4th in which it ended for a final card of 39-34.

It was. So-so young guy beat so-so ancient guy.

The mind was plenty willing (at first anyway) but the body of Iribe just wouldn't cooperate.

Carmona has captured the vacant WBC Latino bantamweight title, and is now 21-5-5 (9), just one stoppage away from cracking double-digits.

    Marín didn't make the FW limit, came in at 128lbs. He's 8-3 (3); Bolaños is 4-1 (2).

    Round 1

Bolaños is letting Marín lead for the first minute, picking off his jabs. Bolaños now countering nicely with the right hand over the extended arms of Marín. Pretty evenly matched fencing duel, here.

10-9 Marín, a little more active, thus more connects. No difference in quality.
