    Round 2

Marín lands a couple of bombs on the face of Bolaños, quietly building powerful combos off the steady, lulling stiff jab. Bolaños is dancing away, pausing to stick a body jab and getting clobbered on the finely coiffured hairline with perfectly timed looping rights, nearly staggering him into a face-plant each time. Bolaños is giving respect, hopping far outside after jabbing the highest point of Marín's trunks (any lower and he gets warned; they're hoisted slightly over the navel). Marín dialing in the 1-2 and hurting Bolaños with it. Long right hand diving in from Bolaños, and Marín lures him along, backing into the ropes pumping 1-2s.

    10-9 Marín

    20-18 Marín

    Round 3

Marín remains calm as Bolaños hurls big haymaker rights at him, attempting to reverse his fortunes with a single blow. Marín stays poised, defending when he needs to, using economical movement, shuffling around the ring, countering with jabs and 1-2s and exploiting Bolaños' occasional dips severely out of position by tossing wide fat right hands into the side of his head, sending sweat flying. Bolaños manages to force his way inside and muscle Marín into the ropes and land an uppercut. Bolaños now getting in some long body shots while standing up straight. Marín keeps pinching his gloves together, changing directions, circling and picking off wild shots and lining up his opponent for the 1-2. Triple jab by Marín at the bell after slipping a bunch of crazy punches.

    10-9 Marín

    Round 4

Marín is stalking Bolaños, repelling his long catapult rights with a defensive wave of his mitt, brushing them away, then countering with step-in jabs or 1-2s (very rarely a lead right). Marín is starting to become the aggressor now as Bolaños languishes, short on ideas after seeing many of his attacks blocked. Bolaños is getting strapped across the skinny flanks; even when he maneuvers his arms in the way they are just pool-balled into him and pinned fast.

    10-9 Marín

    Round 5

Bolaños is able to connect on a hard chopping right hand from afar while dashing in on Marín, who certainly ought to be up by this point but seems the more nervous fighter. Marín struggles to find his rhythm after being rocked in the opening minute, nearly all of his jabs missing as Bolaños simply erects himself to a full standing height and lobs both hands playfully at Marín to bait him into exchanges, then drapes himself over him to smother while clapping a right hand across his back or, if lucky, marrying fist to face.

    10-9 Bolaños

    49-46 Marín

    Round 6

Bolaños is doing some awkward, herky-jerky stuff at his ideal range (a bit outside Marín's), launching high-sailing right hands behind a lumpy vision-obscuring jab and then reeling out again the moment he lands or gets blocked. Marín is frustrated, unable to get a touch in at this range but not committing to do anything to change his situation. Marín is walked into a corner, Bolaños alternating uppercuts with both hands, getting away with murder. For some reason Marín is too wary to just step through and take away the range by getting inside, and every time he tries lateral movement Bolaños grazes him with a wild roundhouse.

    10-9 Bolaños

    58-56 Marín

I think Marín clearly won the six round boxing match, but had this been an 8-rounder Bolaños would have won the fight.

Figures that Mexican judges really wouldn't be feeling Marín's work. His scared body language probably worked against him.
