    Just a note:

Lots of news outlets are calling the TD a "disputed" or controversial decision.

It was definitely close and Rubillar did have Quijano on the hoof for a while, but ultimately I scored it the same as all three judges...and felt all the rounds were pretty clear. I think the Telemundo unofficial scorecard wound up having it a draw, as they gave Rubillar one more round than me.

Any way you slice it, not a bad showing for the Filipino considering he was a late replacement on five days' notice.

Quijano was originally supposed to have met Raul Hidalgo, who got injured last week. Luckily enough, Juanito Rubillar happened to be in Las Vegas as part of the training entourage of his promoter (Manny Pacquiao). He happened to be in Quijano's weight class, and had been on standby for the possibility of an appearance "vs. TBA" on the Pacquiao vs. Bradley undercard, which never materialized.

Of course, on the other end, Quijano was preparing for a different opponent - one he probably would have knocked out easily. (this guy: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=535914&cat=boxer) Rubillar was a step up, and Quijano was able to gut it out to the end...albeit a somewhat inconclusive end due to the cut.
