"Diamante" Zamora of Mexico is 19-3 (12) and has been kayoed in all three losses...but his opposition has been far stiffer than "Pinky" Colón's, of Puerto Rico, whose lone professional defeat was via MD to a journeyman balanced against his fearsome-looking 15 knockouts beside the 16 in his W column..
Round 1 Colón is eating jabs willingly as he presses in, leaving his chin hanging out disrespectfully a few inches past his toes. Zamora landing STIFF jabs on the point of the chin, but not pulling trigger on anything else yet despite the clear shot he's being given, perhaps wary of a trap. Colón has Zamora somewhat discombobulated with this no-selling tactic, and walks him into a corner, where Colón suddenly EXPLODES, coming up off his feet with hooks and chopping rights, abruptly dropping Zamora! "Flash" knockdown in the sense that he popped right back up and is lucid, but that was as hurtful as it was sudden. Zamora now giving Colón a lot more respect, jabbing as he backs up into the ropes. Colón presses in and eats a desperation overhand right before pushing his arms up into Zamora's from just below his chest, wedging an opening...and then laying in with some bombs! Colón just teeing off. Zamora down again! Up, getting shredded! Waved off! TKO1!!
Just fast-forwarded until caught up with the live action to see if they ended up televising Maureen Shea vs. Edina Kiss, which is the card's actual co-main event... nope. Four other fights, three of them 4-rounders, one in which both men were making their pro debuts. Goddamn sexist ass Latinos.
