Hard piercing jabs by Cano, sliding forward. Pintor jogs backward and holds his rangier arms outstretched to hold Cano at length. Cano starts to whip right hands in from behind his back, breaking through the guard of Pintor and knocking him back into the ropes. Pintor is dragged into a firefight, and for a moment seems to remember he's a Mexican. NICE trade of left hooks!! Pintor really digging to head and body!! Cano takes over with the reemergence of his jab, though, driving Pintor back with it and hammering him with rights as he approaches the ropes.

Round 5

Cano is painting a gory portrait on Pintor's face with the jab. Hard right uppercuts to the body. Pintor is trying to line up a counter right hand but doesn't have the aim or timing, and can never square up properly as Cano keeps driving him back and forcing him to either tie up or get trapped on the ropes. Their heads come together on the inside and Pintor sells it. The ref takes a point - wait, from Pintor? Did the acting backfire on him? Nope, he deducted it from Cano. This angers Cano. He goes wild, taking some big power swings at Pintor and missing. Pintor lands a solid counter right and then struts into his corner, doing a little peacock walk.

Round 6

A pair of rabbit punches early by Pintor in a clinch. Lots of time taken for Cano to recover. His corner is allowed to use an ice pack/cold compress on the back of his head. About two minutes recovery time. Might be close to a DQ if the ref feels Cano is milking it. Replay now shows Pintor actually landed a three-foul combo. A descending headbutt, followed by the two rabbit punches. This is a wild fight. Time in, finally. Pintor throws a lazy jab and gets whipped with a counter right. Cano is VERY angry now. He ducks and swoops inside, going for the body. Pintor tries a 1-2, and Cano ducks. Body shots by Cano. Pintor throws him back. Wild hook by Pintor misses from outside, his feet placed unevenly and almost causing him to fall over. Clinch, and Cano lands his own right to the back of the head. Then a left hook to the jaw as Pintor is grimacing and complaining about it. Jabs traded from mid range. Uppercut to the body by Pintor from outside. Cano pushes him back with jabs high and low. Clinch. Pintor backs up and catches jabs on his forearms. Big counter hook by Pintor, rising up out of a crouch. Cano mostly blocks it but the force of it rocks him back. Jabs and rights from Cano, forcing his way inside. Double right hand behind the temple by Cano. Pintor backs up and jabs, then misses a few hooks as Cano dives in and goes for the body.

Round 7

Overhand rights up top, and jabs to the body by Cano. Pintor tries to jab the body darting in on bent lead knee, but just crashes the back of his wrist into Cano's hip en route. Pintor's eyes are both badly puffed up. Cano is tagging him with rights, probably affecting his vision more and more with each one. Pintor has his guard up, just trying to keep Cano out. Pintor steps forward to pursue when Cano circles out to reset. Pintor catches some jabs, but doesn't go fully on the offensive. A couple of whipping rights by Cano charging in.

El Sobrino de El Indio needs to quickly figure out a way to sweep the last five rounds and score a couple of knockdowns if he even wants to eke out a draw and stay unbeaten..

 

Round 8

Cano chops in with rights to the body and then darts out. Pintor throws some jabs and high hooking combos on the front foot but lacks the speed to make good on them. Cano keeps harassing him from outside and then getting out of harm's way. Cleaner round, less clinching and butting (and rabbit punching), but also less work done by both. The two probably go hand in hand.

Round 9

Double left hooker-cut to the body by Cano, delivered while leaning over to his left. Pintor answers with his own solid left hook to the jaw. Head clash. Pintor is hurt, and hams it up again. Point taken from Cano. This ref is so impressionable, he should work the NBA. :yep Cano hops around and stings Pintor with little gnat-like jabs. Cano's ring movements and punches aren't exactly tidy, but they're less sloppy than Pintor's and his herky-jerky movement is causing the more straightforward Pintor problems getting set. Left hook from Pintor sees him countered with a shower of right hands.

Boxrec lists this as a 12-rounder, but if my spotty Espanol is serving me well here, the commentator just announced this as the "ultimo asalto"...meaning this tenth is it.

 

Round 10

Lots of leaning together, with Cano very self conscious of his head and actually tilting it back out of the way and still getting warned to watch it. Cano dances around as Pintor stalks and throws right hands from too far out. Cano starts to get his jab going and suddenly Pintor wants no part of him, running back the other way. Now Pintor feigns a right, and it's Cano giving ground. Very odd round, neither man wants to seize the day. Cano circles left and gets clipped with a hook. Wild right from outside by Cano, falling off balance and nearly brushing a glove on the canvas. Big left hook by Pintor at the bell.

First round I'm actually giving Pintor.
