    Round 1

Epazote whips out a couple of hooks and then lines up a 1-2. Urias is trying to step inside from down low and land high jabs. Hook by Epazote from outside, ducked. Urias puts out some jabs, just feeling out with them. Flush right hand lead by Epazote from outside, turns Urias' chin. Epazote is boxing tall now, keeping clear of the much shorter man and bending in just enough to hook the body. Big guillotine rights by Epazote miss.

    10-9 Epazote

    Round 2

Left hook and right hand from outside by Epazote, both telegraphed but each finding a home on a respective ear of Urias. Some ducking and shimmying side to side at range by Urias, who just can't find a shot to land consistently. His jabs are stopped by the guard and when he tries to duck in and land body shots Epazote simply steps back and lands his own.

    20-18 Epazote

    Round 3

Urias tries to duck his way in and gets brushed with a 1-2. Urias tries a long left hook coming up and eats one in reply although his does connect. Epazote steps back and fires his 1-2, but Urias catches him again with a high-reaching left hook. Jab to the body by Urias. Epazote has his left jab stretched out, idling. Urias ducks under a right hand and catapults himself off the lower body of Epazote without landing a shot, then caroming off the ropes. Big hooking flurry by Epazote, landing on either side of Urias' face. Urias is momentarily stuck on the ropes getting drilled until he moves off to the side by ducking and stepping around Epazote. Lots of ducking and dodging by Urias, but not much punching. Big flurry at the bell by Epazote.

Through two minutes, it seemed Urias was on his way to actually getting a share. Then Epazote landed more on him in the last sixty seconds than he had up until then.

    30-27 Epazote

    Round 4

Right hand lead by Epazote. Urias dances around on the outside, staying low but still easily found by the left hook of Epazote. Left hooks landing every other second by Epazote. Urias is just taking them all on that bald head, unable to move it out of the way or duck low enough. Urias decides if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Big high reaching hooks by Urias, stepping inside. Landing. Epazote returns to the jab as the focal point of his offense. Successfully. Landing it, and rights along with it. Urias puts up his own jab, but can't get it halfway past Epazote's reach. Straight combo by Epazote, knocks Urias back to the ropes. Epazote falls in on him with a left hook to the body. Combo by Epazote, swinging a bit wild. Uppercuts miss as Urias ducks and leans. Urias comes up with an overhand and misses that badly. Body shots traded, and Epazote lines up a flush straight right. Now a clubbing right from outside as Urias stands there.

    40-36 Epazote

    Round 5

Hard rights traded, Epazote landing his second after getting his head snapped back as he waded in behind a jab. His knocked Urias' head down past his shoulder. Now having both tasted pain they go back to a more cautious pace, jabbing at each other from outside. Wavy jabs by Urias, scraping at Epazote's guard with them. Right hand leads and left hooks by Epazote, driving Urias to the ropes. HARD right hands to the body by Epazote. He may be on to something there. The rights to the body seem to have a profound effect on Urias, really slowing him down. Exchange at the bell, both landing straight head shots from outside while circling and stepping apart.

    50-45 Epazote

    Round 6

Epazote is favoring the hook, trying to rip Urias' head off with it. He is landing a few of them, but not flush on the button. Urias is ducking inside, working the body with short whip-around taps with either hand. Clubbing right by Epazote up close. Jab to the face by Epazote. 1-2. Clubbing right. BIG overhand right by Urias. Right hand lead by Epazote. Left hook. Some more overhands by Urias, but these waved out softly. Arm punches. Epazote backs up and hooks. Clipping left hook to the brow, and a flush right hand by Epazote. Clinch, both men leaning in, exhausted. Exchange in close quarters, both letting it go, throwing hard. Lots of missing or just barely stroking.

    60-54 Epazote

    Round 1

Cortes turns and jabs as the taller man immediately chooses to box from outside. Long right hand lead by Ortiz. Cortes turns his head over to let the Ortiz jab go by and then puts up his own jab. Cortes cuts the ring off, and gets a 1-2 to the forehead for his troubles. Right to the body by Ortiz from outside. Cortes steps in and lands a left hook to the gut...causing Ortiz some panic and sending him reeling across the ring. Cortes again cuts off the ring and lands an even harder left to the body. Ortiz has to take a knee. He gets up and Cortes tries to rush him into the ropes. Big display of power by Cortes, a large volley of uppercuts. Ortiz blocks most of it, but is pinned on the ropes. Big body shots by Cortes. OHHHHH!! Ortiz turns it around with a counter right hand, busting Cortes' nose open! Ortiz keeps landing straight shots, jabs and rights, backing Cortes up!! The ref jumps in!!

    TKO1!!

Kind of a quick stoppage, especially considering Cortes had Ortiz down and hurt with body shots (more hurt than he was at the end there, IMO...although that was quite some Hulk Hogan turnaround...)

Weird as it may seem, I think Urias vs. Epazote was actually the headliner. :huh

Halfway through Pintor vs. Cano between rounds they had their metrosexual interviewer dude backstage chatting with Epazote and the commentators got all excited, with that "the event we're all waiting for!" tone...

And, of course, it was on second...but just didn't have a swing bout/time-filler feel to it, as Cortes vs. Ortiz did...

And before the went off the air, as they showed wrap-up highlights over the closing credits...they showed far more of Urias vs. Epazote - like twice as many. :think

Why would a six-rounder featuring a debutant outrank even a minor "title bout"? (even if it was only 10 rounds and not 12).

Was Epazote some top amateur in Mexico?

Agree on the quick stoppage. The ref seemed to jump at the chance to wave it off. Ortiz did turn into a monster off the ropes after some nice slipping and ducking! Fun way to end the night.
