Soto looks old and lethargic. Lara brings it to him, unloading power punches. Soto is rocked!! This kid is bothering him. Soto rides out a poor opener.

Soto can't keep the punches out, and he's down hard. Up, but shaky. Down again. He beats the count. Down a third time, and that's it!!

Pedro Melo vs. Gabriel Aguillon, 6 rounds @ bantamweight

 

Round 1

Melo is stepping back and throwing counter hooks to the ribs and sideburns as Aguillon walks forward throwing much sloppier and very slow broom-pushes to body.

Round 2

Aguillon is throwing very wild combos down low, and Melo is making him miss easily. 1-2 up top by Melo. Aguillon waves a jab out at Melo's face, coming nowhere close. Left hook by Melo.

Round 3

Melo is spreading his base and throwing jabs to the head as Aguillon dives in with increasingly hefty body punches. Aguillon is hooking with bad intentions now, driving Melo into a corner. Counter uppercut by Melo, and he rams his chest into Aguillon's face to back him away. Leaping hook by Aguillon, caught on the glove as Melo skitters backward. Another leaping hook by Aguillon, landing. Body shots by Aguillon as Melo sits on the middle rope. Conuter combo by Melo, finishing with a flush uppercut to the bottom of the jaw.

Aguillon is hurtling in past the jab, getting tagged by it but able to lay hands on Melo's body prior to his evasive maneuvering. Counter left hook by Melo, starting to look a bit uneasy but still able to mostly contain Aguillon at the end of his jab.

Round 5

Melo is taking baby steps to either side at long range, leaning forward to stick the jab and then pulling back. Aguillon is taking big hard undercut swipes to the body with his left and just missing. Uppercut by Aguillon, punched out of the air by Melo's left jab and clearing the runway for a flush straight right to the chin. Aguillon doesn't blink. Melo seems to be wondering how to hurt this guy. Aguillon is cut on the bridge of the nose. More pressure by Aguillon. Jabs and body hooking combos by Melo.

Round 6

Aguillon is flopping in and using Melo to keep himself upright, grabbing his wrists and trunks. Very sloppy action. Right hand by Melo taking a step back, trying to get organized. Aguillon lunges with a few high right hands, missing, then slaps Melo's hip with a dragging hook. Melo is knocked into the ropes as Aguillon keeps pressing in. Nice left hook by Aguillon as Melo extends a lazy fat combo from outside. Aguillon rushes in and digs into Melo's chest with both hands. 1-2 by Melo to back him off. Hook by Aguillon leaping inside. Melo circles away, popping jabs into the air. Sloppy flurry by Aguillon, but he brushes Melo across the sides and back with it.

Jose Zuniga vs. Juan Pablo Arias, 4 rounds @ light welterweight

 

Round 1

Zuniga tosses out some jabs and whips the right hand around. Arias timidly backs up and pushes his jab out into Zuniga's gloves. BIG left hook by Zuniga, feet lifting off the canvas. Triple left hook by Zuniga, head-body-head. Arias circles and tries to line up a single right hand to the body but keeps getting shied as Zuniga lets rip with the hook. High jab by Zuniga, snapping Arias' head back.

Round 2

Zuniga is spamming the hard left hook up top. Arias waits, catching hooks on the guard, and then comes on strong with the right hand. Several flush right hands pumped in by Arias! They trade jabs in the pocket. Zuniga resumes hooking, body and head.

Round 3

Zuniga is pitching himself in with left hooks, stumbling a bit off balance. Arias is patiently throwing straight rights while circling, and slapping a few around the side. Zuniga walks into several shots, taking aim from a few paces too far.
