Jay Z is a POS.... Always has been. Look up the group he has ties to - 5 % nation. Wonder why certain posters and his fan base in general pretend as if that's not a thing? Imagine if Kathy Duva had even slight ties to David Duke?

I don't see why he wouldn't be put on Medicaid and Medicare. It's queetionable to assume Roc Nation would be responsible for him.

K2, Madison Square Garden, Dr. Avery Browne, and others were all named as defendants. The primary target was the doctors, and the state itself. Typically, in these sorts of things, as wide a net is cast as possible to increase the odds of winning.

K2, Madison Square Garden, and Browne all got dismissed- apparently, the language in the promotional contract isn't what caused the negligence, but rather the state's execution of it. The State took the responsibility, to the tune of $22 million. That $22 million released only the state, and two employees directly hired by them. There's still a case outstanding that could net the family another $6 million or so.

Personally, as a Wlad fan, I was deeply disappointed he didn't do more to help Mago's family at the time. It was likely for legal protection ("good faith" payment can be twisted in to "admission of guilt"- ie, why are you paying damages if you're not responsible?), but that wasn't fair to Mago's family IMO. I'm glad they're at least getting some justice 4 years later.

Honestly I never liked that his nickname was twitch, it gave me a weird vibe.

Jay Z is a luciferian lunatic he don't care about people.

Wow and crazy another father son tragdedy in boxing. I had a feeling he was getting into the ring too soon after losing.

This is a terrible situation, money is the root of evil.

Damn, he's a boxer? His Instagram pics in the hospital looks like a C-list actor auditioning for a Saved By The Bell series reboot. Hope he recovers 100%. I'm gonna donate $5.

There was an AP article that said that based on NYSAC regulations, insurance for a 10 card bout would cost promoters approximately $9,000 and provide $1,000,000 coverage for brain injuries and $50,000 coverage for other injuries

Seems like a no-brainer, no pun intended. This should be implemented across the USA.

in the rest developed world there's no need for that really.

In one of the moves that one could chalk up to "penny wise and pound foolish", or just plain old dumbassery due to not clarifying the policy, K2's nominal insurance policy wouldn't pick up the tab for any of the medical bills because Mago's injuries occurred in the course of boxing. That policy satisfied the NYSAC's minimum requirements nonetheless.

How on earth the state deemed a boxing insurance policy that didn't cover the costs of injuries resulting from boxing appropriate, I'll never know. The minimum at that time was $10,000- which would've covered hardly anything- but it's absurd that, even if there were a $1,000,000 policy in place, the insurance company was going to weasel out of it.

Jay-Z is the scum of the earth and a piece of ****, it amazes me that a guy with his history that still to this day gives off nothing but at times genuinely sinister Nino Brown like vibes, and all the while the corrupt media pretend like he's an awesome guy and hail him with his borderline mentally challenged Queen B and her dumbass faux feminism, both raging megalomaniacs, as great caring humanitarians and new American royalty.

If there was never any oppression by the White man, you would never have groups like the 5%ers come to be.

Yeah. I'm not sure who (if anyone) is legally responsible in these types of unfortunate situations. But I tend to think this problem is more of a general problem in the sport as a whole, then it is with Roc in this particular instance. Although I have no idea about the finer details, and whether they (or any other party) legally dropped the ball.

Jay Z is a cold mother****er. Read about what he has done in his life to family members and relatives. He's a ruthless business man driven by money, it's no surprise to me that he doesn't give a ****. This mentality is why he's so rich and one of the best rappers of all time.
