Yes PBF was the most dominat fighter of that decade and #48 only got ahead of PBF in the top 10 P4P rankings when he retired period. Not to mention there was no one that #48 fought during that decade that wouldn't have been a big underdog to PBF. PBF was the better fighter of that decade and was still the favorite over #48 in that same decade so how in the hell can you be the fighter of the decade when you're picked to lose?:deal In retrospect the award looks silly you have a guy who's the best fighter of his era but didn't win fighter of the decade. Face it they got it wrong and as always fighter of the era>fighter of the decade.
Dominant fighter against who His sparring sessions barley even got him fighter of the year let alone the month ! Most dominant by cherry picking some of the weakest opponents ever Sorry that rubbish may sell with his fan boys but to real boxing fans they know the truth the guy has never beat anyone great in their prime or close to it ! He's never cleaned out anything ! Beat weak title holders not champs and you honestly think he deserved FOD ..Like I said he never won that award because of this and the fact that he retired for two,yrs to avoid guys ! Does that sound like the actions of FOD ? And he barely had any KO's
Floyd ducked too many fights to be considered FOTD. Don't confuse Cherry Picker of the Decade (CPOD) with FOTD. :nono
1880s - John Sullivan 1890s - Bob Fitzsimmons 1900s - Joe Gans 1910s - Sam Langford 1920s - Harry Greb 1930s - Henry Armstrong 1940s - Willie Pep 1950s - Sugar Ray Robinson 1960s - Muhammad Ali 1970s - Roberto Duran 1980s - Sugar Ray Leonard Another posters picks in the classic forum. Hard to disagree (at least on the decades I know anything about) really.
Ducked who? He was with Arum for half of the decade dummy he didn't have control of who he fought. He's still > Oscar and the best fighter of the era and you still lose sleep at night because of it.:hi:
You know who he ducked, it's been proven time and time again. As far as Floyd being greater than ODLH, I doubt it. Mayweather's careful matchmaking has closed the gap between Oscar and Floyd in terms of accomplishments, but Oscar is greater overall.
He was too good for his opponents. PBF would never go life and death with the likes of EM and MAB in his prime.:deal That's a knock on #48 not something to be praised. Also all these guys you claimed he cherry picked were either great opponents for other fighters, champs, top ranked or PBF was supposed to be scared of them until the fight was signed. Don't get mad at me because you backed the wrong horse in this whole PBF-#48 thing and came out on the losing end PBF was proven to be the best, superior to #48 and in retrospect it was a cruel joke to give #48 the FOTD award. KOs have nothing to do with anything that right there shows your bias a 12-0 clinic can be just as impressive as a KO infact it can be more demoralizing to a fighter because they where made to look amateurish. JCC had more KOS than Pea Whitaker to but when they fought Pea gave JCC that work and made him look like ****.
He did go life and death with JLC who was not on the EM/MAB level :think And I don't remember Pac going life and death with MAB :think
