    Good topic because alot o the time fans get miscrewed by the ethnicity of the fighter. Like Bradley is more come forward type fighter than Mares is.

    Pacquiao - used to brawl, now he boxes
    Bradley - hmmm probably more brawler, especially vs southpaws
    Cotto - joke
    Montiel - care...
    Froch - bad
    Cloud - brawler
    Chavez Jr. - didn't watch him
    Ortiz - brawler
    Gamboa - boxer
    Mares - no clue haven't watched abner

    I'd say Mares is definetely more brawler than boxer.

    In his fight with Darchinyan he def was, but he would usually box..Boxer/Brawler would fit him...Same with Victor Ortiz.

    Anyone who calls Montiel a brawler has no basic knowledge of him.

    He's too smart to be a brawler. He get's hit, and he get's outboxed, but anyone who sets traps, and times as well as Montiel is not a brawler.

    It's what his style is based around: his ability to set traps and how he calculates a way in which to do it. Watch how he stops Cermeno, watch how he stops Hasegawa, they aren't just lucky shots, he's planned them, he's worked out how he's going to land them.

    It seems that Mexican+Good left hook=Brawler now. Insanity.
