I'm all for brawls in boxing but you can't tell me it's not interesting to see a boxer/puncher showcase footwork and pop the jab humiliating his opponenet. Ducking and fainting shots making him miss an counter punching. Then after you're in his head use that power to end the night. Thats amazing. Any fighters of today match this description?
Keith Thurman, Canelo, Mikey Garcia, Terrence Crawford, Danny Garcia, Chocolatito, El Bandido Vargas. They have skills and power to go with it. Usually in exciting fights and most versatile fighters cuz they can obviously box circles around opponents, but if need be they drop the hammer on them too. They usually try to bring a balanced, all around approach which is good.
GGG happens to be an excellent Boxer with one punch power. Wlad is a good boxer with one punch power. Kovalev is more of a modern swarmer who overwhelms his opponents with combinations. And Mike GarcĂa is also a very good boxer with crunching power. These are the only guys who fit in a description of a Boxer puncher.
I am hoping the 2nd Froch fight doesn't ruin him. It is sad to see such talented boxers question their skill to the point they can't pull the trigger anymore. I hope he makes a nice comeback and gives us a good fight VS Anthony Dirrel.
