all depends who is better, remember the legs are longer than the arms,so the boxer would have to get in close and even then if the kickboxer has good hand skills he could get the better.

Equal talent? Kickboxer wins. Simple: More weapons.

A kickboxer is a failed boxer.

How stupid can you be to go into a kickboxing match without atleast learning the very basics of leg kick defense. In Vince Philips even just learnt the basics of defense against kicks for a month, IMO he would have won easily.

Ask Beware of dog one of our posters here. Who is a pro-kickboxer who does more pucnhing than kicking. I'm sure he'll give you some insight.

There are many factors in this. Boxing is bigger and there´s more money in boxing, so the talent pool is deeper. There are different kinds of kickboxing. I would normally say that muay-thai, allowing knees, elbows and strikes from the clinch is more effective than western kickboxing.

Where you have 2 fighters with about equal talent, the kickboxer has an advantage in a kickboxing match and the boxer has an advantage in a boxing match. If you take the world´s top kickboxers and boxers, the boxers would normally have more talent due to what I said in the beginning. Many of the big name boxers who went to kickboxing were pretty past it and living of their name, so their results don´t really say much.

In an MMA fight there is some advantage to the kickboxer, but it depends on what other skills (ground etc.) the fighters have.

It is not true that fights with no rules or MMA rules just depend on the fighter and not the style. Some styles are more effective for fights with little rules than others are. It is also more effective to be rounded than to just be specialized in one style.

Thats one of my thoughts...and it goes out to all MMA's as well as kick boxing - the whole thing that is $$$$. There's a whole lot more $$$ in boxing than kick boxing or MMA and if these top guys thought they could crossover and cash in then why wouldn't they? Or to put it more precisely why haven't they yet?

Are the current heavyweight fighters quaking at the prospect of a Kimbo Slice coming into boxing to clean up? ...dont answer that its a joke.
