Yes, in terms of the rate of his ascension and his standing in classification, particularly given his age relative to both those ahead of him and behind him. I think he is destined for great things and he is ahead of where I had previously expected that he would be in his journey. The question is whether I can say the same in a year's time.
I dont know what happened to the guy. Almost like he was missing something. Cause he definately had the skills to be great. Hmmm chin, heart, stamina idk what it was? U got any ideas?
pacquiao , sergio martinez exceeds my expectations zab judah, pavlik , victor ortiz failed my expectations..
Hey some guys got it some don't. I think after the Wiliiams fight he was never the same. He was a gatekeeper at best. Oh and he seemed to slow with his hands and mostly his feet. Seemed like his feet were stuck in cement.
Carl Froch exceeded my expectations to the point where I am now a Froch fan. Pavlik both surprised and disappointed me. I tuned in to the Pavlik/McKart fight expecting to see KP get a boxing lesson, and the rest is history.
Me too. I turned into a believer after the Miranda fight, but I still have faith in him for some reason.
We want to beleive because we know what a healthy, focused and determined Kelly Pavlik can do. He's knocked out 7 or 8 guys who had never been stopped before, and he is the only guy who ever scored a decision over Jermain Taylor. I think it is pretty normal for a hard core boxing fan to want to see a guy like that back in business.
Manny Pacquiao. Didn't expect him to: beat Barrera in 2003, De La Hoya, Cotto stop Morales in the rematch throughly destroy Morales in the rubber match, Hatton, Diaz Kelly Pavlik, as disappointing as his title reign at 160 has been, exceeded my original expectations of him. Andre Ward. Early on, I didn't think he'd do that much as a pro. I did not pick him to beat Mikkel Kessler, nevermind win by a wide margin.
