There are a few boxers I'd like to read more about. I thought it would be nice to name boxers members of the forum have interest in reading books or articles about. Also, if you've read something about them, or you know about a good book or article for a fighter mentioned, you can give a recommendation. As a little extra, feel free to emphasize what details you'd like to know (recounts of fights and opponents, their lives, etc.). I'll start: Sailor Tom Sharkey - Fight recounts are fine, but details about the man would be fun to read. I've read: I Fought Them All': The Life and Ring Battles of Prize-Fighting Legend Tom Sharkey Authors: Greg Lewis, Moira Sharkey Tiger Flowers - Haven't read anything of note. Seems like a fascinating individual.
Would've said(no pun) Saad Muhammad but he has a recent book out finally. Look forward to having it in the future. Currently having a blast reading on Dempsey from Pollack. Names that interest me to read: Jimmy Young JCC(English translated book lol) Locche Olivares Zarate Quartey Teofilo
I highly recommend "Sam Langford: Boxings Greatest uncrowned Champion" by Clay Moyle, Stevie. You can order online at Waterstones or Amazon.
I've always found Johnny Tapia's story incredibly sad, amazingly tragic. Will have to buy his book at some point.
Saoul Mamby Johann 'Rukeli' Trollman Yoshio Shirai and his manager Alvin Robin Cahn Dennis Andries Peter Jackson Joe Jeanette Tom Kennedy So if anyone has any articles please feel free to post a link to them!
