Yes quite a few boxers who took massive shots but stayed on their feet (Quarry, Ali etc) suffered from brain related injuries later in life.

... but look on the bright side, Amir Khan should be OK ;)

Which is amazing considering they both had well over 100 fights!

David Reid has a major depressive disorder and lives mostly in isolation. It could be secondary to boxing but it's hard to prove.

Maybe, but he's barely even been functional for the last 10-15 years.

For the dense, this means that you should desist in spreading ill informed rumors that Ali was damaged from boxing.
More than likely, it was the ADL. :yep

Both were stereotyped during their careers as brawlers when in fact their defense was top notch. They rarely were hit clean during most of their fights.

Its ironic that the defensive wizard of Chavez' era is the one that ended up with brain damage, though that could be attributed to Pernell Whitaker's brain being fried by drugs.

Yeah. I remember Chavez' waist movement. It's all in the hips. It's all in the hips.

    Has anyone mentioned Vargas?

Wilfred Benitez has had terrible issues for many years now.

Ray Mancini is fine, he seemed to take a lot of punishment but is ok these days.
