I think what he's trying to say that believing that god is going to destroy the world and damn everyone who isn't a believer to hell and take his fellow followers up to heaven where they belong sounds like a crazy fairy tale. Also, the fact that Mormon's believe in three different levels of heaven. Ha. I don't know, most religion's sound extremely far fetched to me.
Well Natep, you are incorrect in your assesment of Mormonism. Most religions? Which religions sound sound far fetched in your opinion?
Who gives a **** what religion boxers are? Religion is the cause of most of the worlds problems Well, Religion and George Bush
Really? A few people I went to school with told me a brief description of Mormonism and the thing that I remembered the most was the whole three different levels of Heaven. What I was talking about before that was Christianity. The thing about religion is that a lot of them are clearly just a branch off of the Horus story and they're just about equally ridiculous. --the story of Horus. born December 25th, born of a virgin, his birth was accompanied by a star in the east. Was also a prodigy teacher at the age of twelve years old and at the age of 30 was baptized. Not to mention, he had twelve disciples. He performed miracles like healing people, walking on water, turning water into wine, etc. After being betrayed by Python, he was crucified, buried for 3 days, and then resurrected. examples: -Attis (Greece 1200 b.c.) born of a virgin, born December 25th, crucified, dead for three days, resurrected. -Krishna (900 b.c.) born of a virgin star in the east, performed miracles, resurrected. --Dionysus (Greece 500 b.c.) born of a virgin, born December 25th, performed miracles such as turning water into wine and was also resurrected. -Mithra (Persia 1200bc) born of a virgin, born December 25th, had 12 disciples, performed miracles, dead for three days, and also resurrected. Ironically enough the day of worship for Mithra happened to be Sunday's. and the list goes on.
I'm not 100% sure what you are saying, but I assume you are insinuating that setting restroom etiquette is more "ridiculous" than the trinity?
Plus, "handling poop" isn't really a dogmatic issue the way the trinity is.... The formation story of Islam makes significantly more sense than the formation story of Christianity, from a logical standpoint. Of course, since the foundation of both religions is faith, there are some aspects that don't make perfect logical sense - otherwise you wouldn't need faith!
