True but that doesn´t change the fact that a human´s life is more woth than that of an animal. I´m totally flattened that anybody of our civilization can think otherwise.
Yeah, humanity has a mean streak so to speak. I mean when you look at the films of Hitler and how he treated his dog you never would think he was responsible for killing millions.
It's a dominance thing, but I seriously doubt malice is involved, as is the case with humans. PS-Elephants also display seemingly "homosexual" behaviour, but it's about dominance and obtaining a better standing in their social structure. Same with dogs.
Maybe. I saw a documentation about a national park in Africa not too long ago and they had the problem that the male Elephants forced the rhinos to have sex with them regardless which ses they were because there were too less female Elephants. That looked totally ridiculous.
I don't know if it's true and I don't remember where I read it Funny story, though. Also shows the state of boxing where the world heavyweight champion can walk around in public and not get mobbed :-(
I agree. This human/animal analogy can be taken too far. Take for instance, when male lions take over a pride they kill and eat their rival's cubs. It's nothing personal. We shouldn't apply human norms and standards of behaviour to other species. Bumping this thread as I just stumbled upon this in an article while I was reading about Mitch Green. Journeyman heavyweight Reggie Gross, who was knocked out by the likes of Mike Tyson & Razor Ruddock, is currently doing time for murder. He was an enforcer for drug gangs in West Baltimore (as Hasim Rahman was before he was a fighter). He was supposed to get life, but he's up for parole in a few years due to the laws around that time. www.baltimoresun.com/news/local/bal-sp.gross06nov06,0,5737307.story?coll=bal-mdpolitics-storyutil associatedcontent.com/article/590875/interview_exprofessional_boxer_reggie.html?cat=17
Lions kill cubs ,to bring the females into heat ,so that they can mate, and perpetuate their own line.
Since Dempsey was completely exonerated and given a full pardon from any of this ,[details of the hearing were in the Ring about a year ago]. It would have been nice ,and morally the right thing to do imo, for this canard to have been retracted on here.
You usually have to be convicted of a certain crime before getting a pardon for it. Of course, former President Richard Nixon got a pardon even though he was not tried for the alleged crime, let alone being convicted of it. - Chuck Johnston
Furthermore, Dempsey never stood trial for "**** of virgins", so I can't see how he could be convicted, pardoned, acquitted, exonerated, whatever. It was something that someone said he did. Could be true, could be BS. It's a sordid story either way. It fits this thread perfectly, imo.
