No that's wrong mate. They will get £1150 a fight. They pay trainer and manager out of that. I don't know any journeyman that gets less than 1150, that's the starting point.
So in other words it is a labour of love, not a living. Even if your too high figure were true, after deductions you would barely have enough money for a decent night out to watch yourself box; that is hardly a living!
It's not too high a figure mate, .I have 3 friends ithat arejourneyman, that's the starting price. I've never known them get less. After deductions they cone out with 750/800. All 3 work as well.
I am not surprised they work, as was my point. Journeymen boxers are the real heroes of the sport. They keep it going for love of the sport, not financial gain.
How much do you reckon Fowler and Fitzgerald got for what was a good domestic level fight? I wonder what sort of money Allen got for the browne fight as Hearn is always on about him buying more houses
Houses in Doncaster are cheap to be fair and you only need 25% to buy one. At a guess they probably split £150k maybe £80k Browne as the bigger name away fighter and £60k Allen. Matchroom only broke even on that show. Chisora probably would have taken £100-200k for that as it’s classed as a tune up.
