Not sure if St Louis will ever have another great boxer. Just about all of our city funded gyms have sadly closed and our great trainers have passed away. We haven't had a good pro card since Devon left town. Most of the fighters with any talent are moving towards MMA.
Yeah I haven’t heard about anyone from Illinois in a long time unless I’ve missed something. Don’t follow the current scene that closely these days
Toledo Ohio Former cruiserweight champion Bernard Benton. Him and my dad were actually friends and a year apart in age. He warned old Bernard to milk the title and to win a few tune ups before taking on the big challengers but he didn't listen and lost his title. He ended up running a barber shop. Currently there's a skilled super featherweight Albert "Prince" Bell whose ranked 22nd in the world. I've trained at his gym a few times. He trains like a work horse and his dad is a good trainer who has taught several young kids in the area. My little brother also boxes and is 3-0 as an amateur and has won a local golden gloves.
Just from one section of the county: Bruce Woodcock Iron Hague Billy Thompson Naseem Hamed Johnny Nelson Kell Brook Jamie McDonnell Clinton Woods Herol Graham if we're cheating a bit Paul Jones Go further out into North, West and East Yorkshire though and it expands a bit. Josh Warrington, Junior Witter, Paul Ingle, Henry Wharton and the glorious human yo-yo that was Richard Dunne, just to name a few. Yorkshire is technically one historical county but split into the metropolitan boroughs.

North Midlands technically, mucker. I'd always thought you Mancs took offence at us classing ourselves as Northerners tbh. We're really our own country if I'm honest, though whether that's good or bad is up for debate. You know that rant on the Golovkin-Chang thread where you imagined my post in the voice of Dara O'Briain? Think Sean Bean and you're a lot closer. I pronounce b*stard like a caricature.
Albert Davila, Richard and Alberto Sandoval, Mike Weaver, Shane Mosley, Mike and Bobby Sedillo, Roger Gonzalez.
