I don't know about any single street fight. But I've read multiple sources that claimed Duran was a better street fighter than in the ring. Which is scary.

Boxer Briggs ordered to pay $2 million

MIAMI - Former heavyweight boxer Shannon Briggs was ordered to pay $2 million to former University of Miami lineman Brian Stinson for breaking his eye socket during a nightclub fight in 2001.

Jurors on Friday sided with Stinson, who said his football career was cut short because of the injuries.

&#8220;This was not a fight,&#8221; said Stinson&#8217;s lawyer, Ken Padowitz. &#8220;This was a brutal beating.&#8221;


A doctor testified that Stinson has limited vision in his left eye. The player was forced to miss scouting camps and now works as a counselor at a university in Washington.

Briggs said he would appeal.

&#8220;I am a big target and people think I have big pockets,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It was a football party and I was a boxer. I shouldn&#8217;t have been there.&#8221;
Stinson, 27, testified that he began chatting with an unidentified woman at the bar after he arrived with a group of Hurricane players. He said Briggs berated her and then cursed him, shoving him through a door into an alley. Stinson said when he tried to return, Briggs punched him.

&#8220;All I could see were fists, and it was awful,&#8221; he testified.

The 33-year-old Briggs countered that he was leaving the club when a woman called his name. He tried talking to her but was rebuffed by Stinson and Miami defensive end Quincy Hipps. After some shoving, bouncers tossed Stinson into the alley. Briggs said Stinson returned and tried to tackle him.

Briggs has 25 first-round knockouts during a 12-year boxing career. He earned a 12-round majority decision over two-time heavyweight champ George Foreman in 1997, causing Foreman to retire at the time. The next year, Briggs was stopped in the fifth round by Lennox Lewis.

 

Thats what he deserves for ****ing with Tyson outside a night club, he ****ed with the bull and got the horns.:yep

 

Sonny Liston supposedly got into it with wrestler Dick the Bruiser outside a Vegas casino and got Bruiser on the floor crying for his mother.

 

From what i've heard from a mutual friend that trains with Briggs was that the football player was talking all shorts of **** to Shannon and that's what escalated te situation. In this version of events the football player sounds completely innocent which is bull****. He probably had what was coming.

Most Football players think there the baddest men on the planet, it's nice to hear stories like these where someone like a Briggs puts them in there place, it just sucks it had to cost him 2 mil, if I was Briggs and knew it was going to cost me that much, I would of tried putting that punk into a coma.

I wouldnt be surprised, considering the way he went after liston, firstly at liston's home where he got a bus with his entourage and started calling liston out, then at a casino where liston pulled a gun on ali and started shooting at him ... but it was with blanks

Still that was the brilliant tactics of ali to make liston think ali was crazy.
