I think probably only Larry Holmes or Lennox Lewis could actually pull off a UD. Everyone else gets jabbed to death. Larry and Lennox both had great jabs so that would give them a good chance to match him round for round.
Ali, Tunney and Holmes could all outbox him. Many others who were outboxing him, such as Lewis, would inevitably stop him. Several, such as Foreman, would crush him early.
(1986-1991 - Tyson) and (1992-1998 Lewis) and (1970-1974 Foreman) all knock Wlad out in the first round.
You're right, most great fighters would BEAT THE **** outta him...AGAIN. Like the last 3 BUMS that beat the **** outta him. Then you got CAVEMAN PETER that still managed to knock him down 3 times. Ali wouldn't UD him, he would TKO HIM. TKO, because Klitschko would again be crawlin around on his hands and knees like a sissy.
I can't agree with Holmes, Cooney was clearly not on the same level as Wladimir but went 13 rounds with Holmes and even won maybe five of them. Wladimir is bigger than Cooney, faster than him, his chin is no worse. Cooney had a poor jab and only a good left hook, Wlad has a greater variety of punches, and is not a cokehead like Cooney. So if a limited green Jerry Cooney could give Holmes trouble, what would Wladimir do???
It's actually harder for me to pick HW greats that would take him the distance(and win) instead of KOing him. I can think of a few that could go the distance and lose too. Ali would knock him out btw. Agree with Jack's picks. I'd say Moore, Walcott have outside chances as well. EDIT: Bubby, it's about styles. Cooney is not equivalent to Wlad.... He's a different fighter in approach total. Holmes' mobility and outside game would serve him very well against Wlad.
