Here in PR Miguel Cotto said that he has been in a couple of Mosley fights and had seen him up close,he said he's very good but he has not impressed him.Do you think that a boxer can know that he can win or lose by watching the fight in person?Or do you think a boxer prefers not to watch the fighter for fear of being impressed or falsely motivated? Let me know what you think. Thanks.
Humans, in general, tend to delude themselves into thinking what they want... Sometimes it helps a fighter to fool himself into thinking he can win rather than listening to experts opinions about him losing... like Ricky Hatton against Mayweather. Other times, he can really hurt himself into thinking he can win even though it is an abvious disaster in the making... ie... Roy Jones, Jr.
I think most fighters think that. When their intuition comes true, it makes them look better. What fighter takes a fight and says wow this guys style is going to be really tough for me Im probably going to lose?
Great Thread PR Boxing Lore, First of all love Miguel, la tierra de boriqua and ESB, let me put it these way for ya amigo: Miguel is into big and prime time boxing and he knows the score inside out, he just want give it to ya cause that means giving it to Shane 2 and being a bad business man - of course, intuitive vision and psyche has to do with it, ever heard that 70% of the Game is mental? Well the other 30% have to do with natural skill but a whole lotta training 2 and thus mental strength is required to polish the skills - I really hate this match cause somebody has to lose but I don't believe Miguel has seen something in Shane to be that convinced, neither did Shane, they'll have gameplans but meaning more putting awareness into thought that looking to capitalize on his opponent's so-called weaknesses. Viva Puero Rico!
