    a few months back i remeber Frank Warren saying a British Boxing World Champion was knocked out in a pub and he joked that all the promoters were now trying to sign up the guy who did it. does anyone know the World Champion he was referring too? Or does anyone else know of a famous top boxer who has been knocked out outside the ring by a average joe?

    I saw Prince Naseem get sparked in a pub in sheffield for talking to the wrong girl.... about a week before he was due to fight.

    He was withdrawn from teh fight due to a "hand injury received in training"

    ARF!

    I heard it was Hatton it definitely wouldnt be a fighter on Sports Network aswel and Warren is known for having a dig at Hatton in his columns

    It was Gavin Rees,he has a bad habit of going into streetfights but he is a small guy.

    are youn being serious? what fight was that he was being withdrawn from? you say sparked how bad did he actually get hit? like was he down or did he just take a whack?

    I agree with you - i dont think it would be Gavin Rees because why would Warren publicy embrass one of his own fighters it would just create bad atmosphere between him and his fighter. He was poking fun at whoever it was so probaly someone who is not his fighter. Whats the story behind it was hatton? what happened?

    If it was Hatton you can be sure Warren would have named him. I imagine it was Rees. Although he's a hothead at times, he seems to be able to have a laugh too. It wouldn't suprise me if he got KOed and then joked about it himself. He seems to have that type of personality.

    Another name I heard was Witter, but I doubt that was true. I'd put money on it being Rees.

    if i remember rightly Rees was in training for his title defence when this happened so it would be extremely worrying if he was on the pis during training camp

    I cannot remember the particular fight...I am sure you can google the hand injury.

    He tried it on with a girl who happened to be seeing one of Sheffields hard cases. He didnt heed warnings and got hit flush with a right on teh jaw (from a guy who was about 230lbs). Went down and got up and tried to have a go back but it got broke up.

    Ha had it coming to him

    Why is it that every person in Sheffield reckons they've seen Naz get sparked? :rofl

    He must have been knocked out 1000 times.

    Bearing in mind he was a professional boxer with about 20 tough guy hangers on, I really doubt that people ever got to him.
